Stunt preparation

Evie pov
I had my children in the back seat of my car. I was driving to the palace to do a bit of martial arts training with Uncle Jake, some of his guards, the stunt quardinator  for Ironman 2, my stunt double and my trainer.

I parked and mom met me out front. I got my kids out and they went with her as I went to the training center for the guards. They normally just trained in the garden unless it was raining, then they trained inside in a lower level. I swear under the palace it was a labyrinth.

I found the room where I was supposed to meet the stunt people and guards.

"There you are." Uncle Jake said.

"Here I am. Late as always." I said as I walked towards him.

"Well lets stretch and get started." My trainer said.

Once we were all stretched out and loose. We started.

"Alright one of your stunts is when you and Happy are in a ring while Tony and Pepper are looking over your resumé. You do this." The stunt director said.

Then he and my stunt double did the stunt.

"Can I actually do that?" I asked.

"We'll work so you can do as many stunts I and the director see safe."

We worked the whole day on preparation for me to be able to do it. My stunt double and the the stunt quardinator were tremendous help. The guards who Uncle Jake had also attend started training me with different types of martial arts. One of the guys even knew Russian which was interesting. This was an amazing way to get in touch with Natasha Romanova. And honestly a bit fun.

"Can I try the stunt with Uncle Jake?" I asked.

"Sure why not." Uncle Jake said.

I took my phone out and gave it to one of the guards and had them record the stunt. My stunt double went over one final time how to do the stunt.

I grabbed Uncle Jake's writs and I flipped and wrapped my legs around Uncle Jake's neck. And pulled him to the ground. I got up.

"You alright?" I asked. As I offered my hand to help him up.

"Are you hurt general?" One of the guards asked.

"Just my Pride's hurt." Uncle Jake said. "My Pride and my body." He moaned.

"I'm sorry." I said as I gave him a hug.

"It's alright. I knew I was too old for this." He smiled.

"and now you have blackmail wonderful." "Oh I may only send this to my father and Dimitri and maybe serenity." I said as I took my phone back. Uncle Jake groaned.

"You did an amazing job on the stunt. You executed it perfectly. If you keep doing it like that you maybe able to do it with out the stunt double." The stunt director said.

I smiled.

"Hey Evie you want to join the guards for training?" Uncle Jake asked.

"Um can I do it tomorrow I have training with dad later today." I said.

"Alright." He said.

My trainer, my stunt double and the stunt quardinator left and the guards went to their shifts.

Uncle Jake and I went to the kitchen to get some ice for our sore muscles. I took my phone out and watched the video. Mom came down into the kitchen.

"Evie come on, we have a surprise for you and Finn for his birthday." She said. I put the ice pack down and followed mom upstairs.

Vinnie pov
The general showed me into his office.

"The call should start shortly." He said.

"Thank you. This means so much to see my family." I smiled.

"They're the ones that arranged it." The general said then left me. I went over to his desk and sat down.

The call conectes and Evie sat with Haven and Finn.

"Daddy." Haven squealed.

"Very sweetie." Evie was crying.

"Vinnie." She managed to say.

"Hey Evie I miss you all." I said as a tear rolled down my cheek.

"We miss you so much." Evie said.

"How's everyone doing?" I asked.

"Alright. Did you get the photo of Sebastian?" She asked.

"I did." I smiled. "But how's my little man." I asked.

Evie stood Finn up on her lap. "He's happy." She said.

"I can't believe he's a year old." I said.

"I wish you were here with us." Evie smiled.

"I do too. But only four more months till I'm back." I said.

"Dimitri mentioned a trip to Waverley. I was hoping to tag along if filming doesn't conflict." Evie said.

"Evie I love you will all my heart. And I miss you immensely. But I beg you not to come out here. It's dangerous, even inside our base we're always looking over our shoulders. Looking at the surrounding buildings. Making sure the Italians won't attack again. Because they have and they attacked our hospital. Please don't come, I can't let you get hurt." I said every word full of concern.

"Alright." She said looking sad.

We talked a while longer. And it was just amazing to see my wife and children. It seemed like years since I had seen them.

The call ended and I left. I went to the bunk house, but didn't stay long because I had to patrol with my new squad. A job I hated to do. All I wanted was to get out of this war zone and back home where I knew it was safe.
