Chapter 6- Part 4

"Yes, I would" I say, smiling my cheeky grin. I know us going out by ourselves is like a date but we always come here. I haven't really thought of it before but I would really like to have our own place. Not take over mum and dad's. I want our own special place that we can go to that others haven't or won't.

"Where would you like to go on our date?" he asks.

"I don't know, maybe explore. We should find a place to hang out."

He gestures he arms around. "We do have a place?" he says. I think he meant it as a statement but the way he said it made it sound like a question.

"No," I say, shaking my head. "Our own place. Not one that mum and dad said I can go to. I mean, we find our own. Somewhere that they don't know about. Or do, I don't care. Just somewhere that we have found."

"Why don't we do that now?"

"Really?" I say, excitedly.

"Sure," he gets up and gestures his hands to me to help to me up. I take his hands and he pulls me up. I don't know how but we both silently agreed to go to the opposite way we came.

"So, what are you looking for in particular?"

"I don't know, somewhere quiet, peaceful," I reply.

"Hmm, I think I know somewhere that might be interesting to check out."

Jake and I hold hands as he leads me somewhere. "What is it?"

"The end of the river, there's a waterfall that I think might be nice."

"I know where you're talking about, I wonder why we haven't thought of that before."

"It's probably because your mum and dad wouldn't allow me to take you too far. They are really protective of you, you know."

"I know."

We keep walking until I can hear the sound of the flow of a waterfall. I run ahead, leaving Jake behind me to see what it's like, how it looks.

Oh my god, it's beautiful. The water is a crystal blue, as clear as the sky on a day without clouds. The grass is nice and thick, a beautiful shade of green all thick and lush, no dead areas at all. Sunshine is able to get through to hear because there is no trees in this little opening but heaps surrounding it making it invisible to the naked eye. If I didn't have my vampire senses I don't think I wouldn't have been able to find it.

"My god, it's beautiful."

"I know," Jake says as he puts a hand on my left shoulder.

"This is it, this is our place. We found it and now it's ours," I say, admiring the perfect view of my surroundings.

"This is our place," he agrees with me. I turn around and smile at him. His eyes smile back at me and I wrapped my arms around him and give him a hug.

We walk over to the middle of our new place and sit down. That reminds me. . .

"What are we going to call it?" I ask.

"Call it?"

"You know, how mum named the meadow, the meadow. We need to name here."

"Don't think about it too hard, it'll come to you."

"I guess you're right," I say. He smiles.

"I wonder why we didn't think of it earlier."

"We've only been going out for four days, two of which I was out cold for. We didn't need our own place because we weren't dating, we were just friends so my parents place was fine. Now that we're dating it's weird being at my parents place. Thinking this is where they went. We need our own place that we can call our own," I say. And it's true, we did need our own place and I'm glad we found this one because it is perfect.

"You're right," he says. His phone goes off saying that he's got a text message. He reaches into his pocket and checks his phone.

Something always wrecks the moment, I think bitterly.

He messages them back and then puts his phone back in his pocket.

"Who was it?" I ask.

"Just one of the guys," he says, simply.

"What'd they want?" I ask.

"Just Sam telling me I better do Embry's shift tomorrow night because Embry was nice enough to take mine now."

I look up and the sun is beginning to set because the sky has become lovely shades of purple, red, yellow and orange. A couple stars are just noticeable but I can only see them due to my senses, to the human eye they wouldn't be able to see them. I smile to myself, admiring the view.
