Your P.O.V:
"Ha, ha, ha!" I laugh hysterically, thus earning weird stares from the other commoners. Emmalyn sends me a scared, almost petrified look as she pushes her glasses up. Laurance glances towards Emmalyn and smirks, whilst giving her a look that read: 'you're totally in trouble'.
"Wow!" I over exclaim as I navigate the other two towards our desired destination.
"You know, I never thought you guys would stoop so low," I stated as I gave out a low chuckle that was forming at the back of my throat. Laurance soon came to his defense.
"H-hey! I swear, it wasn't my fault! I am just as upset as you are." Laurance reasoned while he crossed his arms over his chest. I rolled my eyes.
"Sure. Whatever you say," I replied.
Laurance's P.O.V:
And that was all she said. Like, for the rest of the day.
I knew (Y/n) hated this "stupid island", otherwise known as Vana'diel; but I didn't think she'd hate it this much.
When I went to Emmalyn the previous day, she had told me that we were going to have to force (Y/n) to go to Vana'diel "the hard way". I wasn't up for it at first, so I declined.
But when I saw a large ship waiting for us by the docks the next morning with (Y/n) knocked out inside; that's when I found out that she was serious.
So here I am. In Vana'diel. With a worried librarian. And an eerily quiet (Y/n).
A/n: Okay yeah, stop the music.
We strolled through the village. Bumping into others now and then.
(Y/n) stopped in front of a house. It wasn't small; fairly large if I must say so myself.
"So... is this it?" Emmalyn asked, in hopes that (Y/n) would talk. She didn't respond.
(Y/n) walked up to the doorway and hesitated before knocking. She looked scared- almost conflicted.
Shortly after, the door swung open. A woman with calm eyes and a frail figure stood before us. She had chestnut brown hair and (eye colour) eyes.
"(Y-Y/n)? Is that really you?" The woman asked. And (Y/n) broke down.
"Mom... I-I'm so sorry," (Y/n) sobbed. Emmalyn stepped away from (Y/n) and her mother to give the two of them space.
"She kind of looks like her mother," Emmalyn whispered. I nodded. I also took into consideration that (Y/n)'s hair was a bit different from her mother's.
"My baby... it's okay," her mother whispered as they pulled away. Her eyes trailed to Emmalyn and I. Emmalyn stood awkwardly while I smiled and waved. (Y/n) was quick to introduce us.
"Uh, mom, these are my friends, Laurance and Emmalyn. Laurance and Emmalyn, this is my mom," she orated nervously. Her mother smiled.
"It's so nice to meet you. I can't say that I've heard all about you but, it would be nice if you could stay for a chat over dinner," she proposed. Emmalyn lightly smiled and nodded her head.
"That would be lovey!" She beamed before we were let in.
"Oh and please, call me Fiona," (Y/n)'s mother called from the kitchen before bringing us some tea. ( A/N: I'm sorry guys. I tried.)
Once we were settled, Emmalyn and Fiona proceeded to having a conversation. They talked as if they were good friends. It seemed rude to interrupt.
(Y/n) suddenly got up and walked over to a flight of stairs. When she noticed I hadn't followed, she turned towards me and motioned me over. I comply to her wishes and make my way over to her before she and I walked up the flight of stares.
We made it to the top of the stair case and (Y/n) immediately took the lead. She led us through the hallway and into a fairly large room.
Inside, was a bed and a bay window at the side. There were a few sword stands and a black duffle bag near what appeared to be a closet. I watched as (Y/n) landed on the bed in a big heap. I lightly smiled as I watched (Y/n). She motioned me over to the bed.
I lay down horizontally beside her. It had gotten very quiet afterwards. The sounds of the ocean could be heard from the house. The sound of bustling villagers and merchant cries could be made out from the distance nearby.
I sighed. I knew (Y/n) was upset with us; but that didn't mean she had to shut us out.
"So... are we gonna stay like this or are we going to have a regular conversation?" I asked. (Y/n) just shrugged and turned her body the other way. That way, her back was facing me. I deadpanned at her childish action.
"Or would you rather communicate this way?" I asked mentally. It took about a minute for (Y/n) to turn around (thus facing me) and respond.
"You guys are stupid idiots. You know that right?" She mentally proposed. I smiled.
"I was thinking more of a handsome idiot," I replied. A memory of me saying the exact same thing when we first met, popped in my head. (Y/n) rolled her eyes.
"I'm serious!"
"I know, I know! I told you, it wasn't my fault."
(Y/n) made a face.
"I will seriously murder you if you're not telling me the truth!" My eyes widened at her blood-curdling sentence.
Before I could reply, there was a faint knock coming from downstairs. I stood up and walked towards the bedroom door. After opening it, I went down the flight of stairs. (Y/n) slowly trailed behind me.
"Lucinda?" I asked. Lucinda turned towards me.
"Hey Laurance. What brings you here?" she asked. I blinked. And blinked again.
"I should be asking you the same thing, I believe." Emmalyn and Fiona soon appeared from behind Lucinda. The librarian smiled.
"Laurance, I told Lucinda to come to the island once Aphmau gave me the directions to come here. She'll be testing (Y/n) for a while," she orated happily. (Y/n) glared at both Emmalyn and I. I shook my head and stepped back.
This was too fast. Oh my Irene, (Y/n) is going to kill me!
"(Y/n), I-I have nothing to do with this!" I said hurriedly.
And I ran out the door way. Not because I was a coward; but because Emmalyn didn't know what she was getting herself into.
