Emmalyn's 2nd Person P.O.V:

Emmalyn entered the inn---her face grim and eyes tired. She held a few library books in her left arm as she strolled through the doorway; slamming the door with her right.

"Oh, my Irene..." Emmalyn groaned as she plopped down on one of the kitchen chairs. She sighed in relief at the contact.
Her mind was spinning like a whirlwind, at the moment. It was horrible what a night of no sleep could do to one's brain cognition.

She desperately needed sleep, and fast. After (Y/n) had left her in the library, she'd stayed in there a little while more, before falling asleep on the pile of books she'd been "reading" (more like mindlessly staring at the pages). The librarian had to begrudgingly awake Emmalyn from her ungracious slumber.

So now, here Emmalyn sat; at the dining table with her head wedged in between her arms: her  eyes opening and drifting to a close in attempt to keep awake. A prominent crying sound rang loudly in her ears like a broken record, along with the steady beat of her heart pumping slowly...

Wait—crying?

Emmalyn shot out of her seat, quickly heading up the stairs to investigate the source of the loud cries.

"Is that a baby?" Emmalyn voiced incredulously as she watched (Y/n) frantically rock a bundle of sheets, back and forth, from the top step. She watched as (Y/n) paused and lifted her head to face Emmalyn. (Y/n) quickly made her way over to the librarian, her expression contorting into one of relief.

"Emmalyn!" she exclaimed breathily. (Y/n) shoved the wailing blanket of sheets into Emmalyn arms. The blonde yelped, her eyes growing wide.

"Is this a baby?!" Emmalyn inquired incredulously as her form went rigid. She looked down at the weeping child in her arms.

And then, she began to freak out.

"Why is she crying?! Take the baby back, take the baby back!" Emmalyn cried, her head pounding. (Y/n) shook her head frantically.

"No!" she exclaimed firmly. "There is no way I'm taking care of that...stupid child, again!"

"This isn't my responsibility! It's yours!" Emmalyn reasoned, tiresomely before pushing the baby back into (Y/n)'s arms. Said girl frowned.

"But...she stinks!" she complained, crinkling her nose in the process. Emmalyn raised a brow in curiosity.

"I don't smell anything. You're just exaggerat—OH!" Emmalyn paused before quickly covering her mouth with one hand and pinching her nose with the other. She slowly nodded her head.
"I think I see what you mean, now..." she admitted. (Y/n) rolled her eyes before rocking the baby back and forth. And that's when Emmalyn noticed something: (Y/n) had a baby. She was holding a baby.

Why in the world was she holding a baby?

"Umm, why do you have a baby with you?" Emmalyn inquired, rather awkwardly. "You and I were literally talking this morning and you didn't have a baby with you." The librarian paused and thought for a while.

"Unless, there's something you and Laurance aren't telling me..." (Y/n)'s gaze snapped up and she became flustered at the mouth.

"Wha-- huh?! H-how could you say that! We're not even...we haven't even--" (Y/n) huffed in frustration before shaking her head and gesturing to the baby in her arms.

"That's not even possible!" Emmalyn shrugged her shoulders at (Y/n)'s remark.

(Y/n) shook her head and sighed. "Cadenza and I found this baby abandoned behind a building. She'd been crying loudly so, Cadenza suggested that we find the source of the noise." (Y/n) looked to the side.
