Was it possible to wake up smiling? Well, perhaps, yes.

But was it possible for you to wake up smiling? You'd considered it for a moment, looking up at the ceiling in deep contemplation. Your mind told you it was all in your head, but your face said otherwise.

And before you knew it, you were smiling.

Yes, yes it was possible.

"Welcome home, Beautiful," his voice croaked from beside you. His arm moved to drape itself across your duvet-clad stomach. You bit back a smile, turning your head to the right to face your lover's smiling face. You turned your body toward his, his hand slipping across the small of your back.

You stared for a moment, savouring the sight with your eyes as if you never wanted the memory to escape from the jar in your mind. You memorized every feature; his bright blue eyes, his tousled brown hair.

'Oh, his hair'. You sighed in content as one of your hands travelled to his hair which you'd then realized was significantly shorter than the last time you'd seen him. You liked it.

"Thanks," you replied with a small smile after a few passing moments; finally deciding to live in the present. "It feels good to be back." Laurance raised a brow in suspicion, a knowing smirk on his face. He inched himself closer to you, his soft gaze causing your next breath of air to get caught in your chest. You felt a heat rise to your cheeks.

"Don't you mean it feels good to be back with me?" Laurance questioned, an amused smile on his face. You resisted the urge to roll your eyes and instead, feigned a look of deliberation. You shook your head shortly after.

"Hmm... no, I don't think so," you replied with a shake of your head, pursing your lips to hide your smile. Laurance feigned a look of shock, staying silent for a while. You quickly turned onto your stomach, burying your face in your pillow to avoid revealing your bluff. You countered Laurance's silence with your own, hoping Laurance would say something to break the quiet.

But you let out a yelp when he did the contrary---doing something rather than saying---and pulled you on top of him. Both your legs were on either side of his body, straddling him to the bed. Laurance leaned toward you, his right hand moving behind your neck to pull you closer, closer, closer...

And then, the gap was closed and the world around you seemed to fade as all you could focus on was the sensation of his lips on yours, moving slowly, softly, tenderly against your skin.

A gasp escaped your throat when felt his teeth graze your bottom lip. You gripped his biceps for support, feeling yourself go dizzy with each passing moment as Laurance's hands slid further down the back of your neck, through the valley between your shoulder blades, and slowly, oh, so slowly, down the curve of your lower back...

"Ah, Laurance, stop!" you exclaimed after pulling away from Laurance's tickling and much to your horror, you had giggled it out. Laurance paused, giving you an amused smirk as his hands stayed rooted firmly to your sides.

"My, Irene," Laurance began breathily, "did you just giggle?" Laurance questioned, his chest bubbling with laughter. "Is it the end of the world?" You pouted, creasing your brows and leaning down to bury your face in his chest.

"Stoooph ghat," you mumbled, your words muffled by the fabric of his shirt. Laurance rested his chin on top of your head, his laughter sending vibrations through your body.
