Your P.O.V:

"Oh (Y/n), you don't understand! This could be the start of something new and amazing! Just imagine it: "The Pheonix Bibliotecha". That would be a great name! Don't you think? (Y/n)? Are you even listening?"

I groaned in annoyance as I lazily turned on Emmalyn's bed. I lay down on my stomach so I could face her.

"What?" I croaked. Emmalyn huffed. She had been talking, but I hadn't really been giving her my full attention.

"I was talking to you about the totally awsome library I'll build once we find land for the Phoenix Alliance! If you were paying attention, you would've known about it. What's got you so down anyways? You were okay about five hours ago."

"Well, maybe that's because I had seen Laurance 'five hours ago'," I muttered, my voice muffled by the pillow that I had shoved in my face; in attempt to stop the blush from rushing to my cheeks. Emmalyn began to squeal, making me turn to her sharply; a glare plastered on my features.

"What?" I asked, agitated, pretending as if I didn't know the reason she was fangirling. Emmalyn placed her hands over her heart and sighed.

"You're in love! Oh, this is so cute! It reminds of Kenmur and I," she replied as she smiled to herself. I raised an eyebrow as I turned to look at the bespectacled girl in front of me. "Who the heck is Kenmur?" I asked. Emmalyn blinked.

"I haven't told you about Kenmur?" I shook my head; still expecting an answer. Emmalyn chuckled.

"Well, Kenmur is the love of my life! We got married in Phoenix Drop a few months before you arrived." Emmalyn paused before narrowing her eyes. "I still can't believe that I haven't told you about Kenmur. Unless you weren't listening..."

"No," I said, shaking my head. "I do listen to you, unless I have something on my mind. Other than that, you've got my attention ninety-five percent of the time." Emmalyn smiled.

"Aw, thanks! I've known that deep down, you're always eager to hear my theories; even if you don't show it," she finished with a wink. I playfully rolled my eyes and smiled before sitting up on Emmalyn's bed.

"So, where is Kenmur right now?" I asked. Emmalyn smiled slightly as she played with her fingers. Blush lightly dusted her cheeks. I smirked.

"You're turning pink," I teased. Emmalyn's blue eyes widened as she covered her cheeks in attempt to hide the evidence.

"S-stop!" she whined. She continued. "Anyways, Kenmur had gone to Brightport recently. He studies economic trade and wants to see how the production is coming along over there," she reasoned. I nodded my head.

"Do you know when he's coming back?" I asked. Emmalyn's eyebrows creased.

"He should be back anytime soon. I had requested for Aphmau to send out a messenger to make sure Kenmur's okay. Lucinda also promised me that once we find land for the alliance, she'd work on creating a portal that connects to Phoenix Drop," Emmalyn finished. I pulled at my hair gently before speaking.

"This Kenmur guy," I started. "He seems... smart." Emmalyn nodded vigorously.

"Yeah! And he really is as well! Oh, I just can't wait to see him again! He'd make me my favourite food, and we'd talk about how much we missed each other, and the-"

"I do not want to know what the two of you will do after that," I interrupted. I then paused before speaking.

"That should probably stay between you and Kenmur." Emmalyn rolls her eyes at my comment.

"Oh, hush! I-I wasn't even going to say that!" she claimed. I raised a brow.

"Then what were you going to say?" I countered. Emmalyn opened her mouth to speak before closing it.
"Never mind..." she mumbled, as her face grew hot again. I chocked down a laugh before lying back down on her bed.

"Marriage," I started, whilst staring up at the ceiling. "How is it like?" I could feel Emmalyn's gaze land upon me once the words had left my mouth.

"Marriage?" she repeated. I nodded curtly and waited for her response. Emmalyn cleared her throat.

"When you're married to someone, nothing really changes. You just continue to love your significant other. You begin to trust each other more as well. A good relationship must always have trust to tighten the bond," she spoke. I sat up on her bed once again, in deep thought.

"Love," I mumbled. "Trust..." Emmalyn nodded her head. She smiled, as if she were reminiscing a happy memory.

"You also learn to cherish your lover," she added carefully. "Till death do you part..." I stared at her in awe.

"Where did you quote that from?" I asked. Emmalyn snapped out of her memorial trance.

"Hm? Oh, that was just apart of Kenmur and I's wedding vows. I still remember the whole oration," she replied. She looked at me eagerly.

"Do you want to hear it?" she asked. I shook my head.

"No."

Emmalyn pouted. "Aw, fine. Although, I'll be sure to recite it to you sometime soon." I nodded lazily and once again, laid back down on her bed. I heard Emmalyn get up from her seat, and walk over to her bed.

"Scooch over, please," she requested. I lazily shifted my body to the side. Emmalyn sat down beside the spot in which my body rested.

"So, why did you want to know about marriage?" Emmalyn asked. I shrugged.

"No reason," I replied in pure deceit. I turned my head towards the bespectacled girl. She raised an eyebrow.

"I'm serious. Is it because... OH!" Emmalyn's sudden outburst, causing me to jump back a bit.

"What?" I asked flatly. Emmalyn smiled.

"Where you asking me these questions because you want Laurance to propose to you? Oh, that'll be so cute!" she exclaimed. My eyes widened in disbelief.

"What, no! I was only curious!" I excused. Emmalyn smirked as my cheeks began to heat up.

"Now you're turning red!" she accused. I sat up and shook my head.

"No! It's because you made me think of something I never would've thought of in a bajillion years!" I exagerated. Emmalyn shrugged.

"Come on, you won't even be alive in 'a bajillion years'," she reasoned. "And 'bajillion' isn't even a real number!"

"Oh, shut-up!" I replied grumpily. Emmalyn laughed. Then there was a comfortable silence between the two of us.

"Would you ever want to get married though?" Emmalyn inquired softly, as she cuddled closer to me. I snorted.

"I don't know, probably not. Marriage sounds stupid anyways," I responded.

Although apart of you longed to experience such a wonderful moment like wedlock. Emmalyn seemed so happy talking about her husband. About loving, trusting, and cherishing her significant other. Apart of you wanted to be able to do that too.
