Your 3rd Person P.O.V:
"And it was the funniest thing ever!" Cadenza laughed as she clutched her coffee mug tightly. You chuckled, resting your elbows on the table and pushing your empty plate to the side.
"Oh, my Irene!" you exclaimed, a smile lingering on your face. "Just tell me one thing." You leaned in forward and lowered your voice.
"Do think Laurance would be willing to dye his hair "passion fruit-orange" again?" Cadenza laughed once more, wiping an invisible tear from the corner of her left eye. She shook her head.
"I doubt it, one-hundred percent! But you could try." You smiled softly. You carefully leaned back in your chair, looking up at the ceiling of the Meteli breakfast diner. You quickly clutched your stomach.
"Oh, gosh..." you muttered. "I think I had a little too much bacon..." Cadenza giggled. "Just a little?" She tilted her head to the side.
"You ate not only your plate of bacon but mine as well! You even asked the waitress for a third serving!" you shook your head slowly, still clutching your stomach.
"Yeah," you started. "But I didn't know it would have consequences!" Cadenza smirked, a bubble of laughter creeping up her throat.
You were so glad you'd run into her on your way to the diner. The two of you had stopped to talk to each other near the diner's entrance until you'd offered her to come and join you for breakfast. She had obliged, and here the two of you were, laughing with each other.
And indulging in Laurance's most embarrassing childhood stories. Plotting blackmail against him had never been easier.
"Y'know," Cadenza started as she traced the rim of her mug with her forefinger. "You're really funny, (Y/n). Even though I was a bit confused that you chose somebody as dorky as my brother, I'm glad that your decision enabled me to befriend you as well." You smiled, feeling a certain heat reach your cheeks.
"Aw, thanks," you replied. "Even though I'm not good at this whole 'heartfelt' stuff, I'd have to admit that you're pretty great as well." Cadenza chuckled. "Thanks."
"And," you started, pulling yourself away from the back of the chair. "Maybe Laurance and I will come back and visit Meteli...if only you agree?" Cadenza gasped, earning some weird glances from an old couple the sat in the booth opposite of yours and Cadenza's. You smirked before taking a sip from your glass of juice.
"Shut. Up! Of course, I'll agree! The two of you have to visit me soon!" Cadenza sighs before muttering. "And Laurance better have proposed by then!" Your actions suddenly came to a halt, causing you to emit a gurgling sound from the back of your throat. You coughed.
Cadenza looked at you worriedly before reaching an arm out to pat your shoulder gently. "Oh, my Irene, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." You shook your head and waved a dismissive hand. "It's fine," you croaked, before fanning your red tinted face.
'Marriage,' you thought before coughing into the crook of your elbow. 'This stupid subject, again.'
You didn't exactly know why the topic of marriage bothered you so much. Maybe it was the cliché romance that went with it all? Or maybe it was the traumatizing experience of being forced into a marriage once before?
