Laurance's P.O.V:

"Laurance, I have enough kids to deal with at home, so don't make me start treating you like one of them!"

I didn't respond.

"Laurance, I am going to count to three," Logan warned, in a stern voice.

I continued to stay quiet.

"One, two,"

Silence.

"Two-and-a-half,"

More silence.

"Two-and-a-quarter,"

Even more silence.

"One!"

I groaned, muttering a string of curses under my breath. I could hear Logan and Dante whisper among themselves from the other side of the bedroom door.

"I've got nothing..." I could hear Logan mumble. Dante murmured something back before clearing his throat.

"Laurance, you've been locking yourself in this house for a while now. And we never got the chance to talk to you about happened between you and Michi last week. Do you want to come out and talk about it?" Dante inquired. Rage boiled the blood that flowed through my veins.

"Can you just avoid talking about that?" I asked, while slowly sitting up. "She really said some things about (Y/n) that I'd rather not repeat. Michi is... she's..." I racked my brain to find the most appropriate word to describe her.

"She's stupid," I settled for while dismounting the bed and walking over to the door. I opened it and was face-to-face with Logan. He had his arms crossed and was leaning against the opposite wall.

"So, the prince has finally exited his room. How nice of you to join us, Laurance," Logan orated sarcastically. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes.

"Laurance, buddy, we're worried about you. This is the first time in days that you've come out of your room. All this time alone isn't healthy for you," Dante spoke up. I glanced towards where he sat on the floor.

"Yeah, have you looked in the mirror recently? You look like you just stepped out of a cave!" Logan exaggerated. I ignored him, baffled by Dante's concern.

All this while, Logan and Dante had been trying to get me to speak up about what was distracting me. And I was refusing to cooperate. I was being difficult, and it wasn't fair to them.

"I just..." I leaned my head against the wall with an exasperated sigh. "I just really miss her," I whispered, my voice wavering a bit. Dante looked at me sympathetically, automatically understanding who I was talking about.

"I know, Laurance. I get it," Dante sympathized while running a hand through his hair. He sighed.

"But, do you really think (Y/n) would want you to sulk around like this? What do you think she'll say if you didn't toughen-up while she was on the expedition?" Dante asked. I thought for a moment before smiling. Dante took my smile as an opportunity to continue.

"See? So, what do you say? Endure her absence until she's back?" Dante proposed. I took in a deep breath before nodding.

"Yeah," I said, sounding more determined. Dante smiled.

"Great! Then, let's celebrate!" Dante exclaimed while pushing himself off the floor. I raised a brow in confusion.

"Celebrate?" I asked. Dante nodded. "You need to be surrounded by positivity. Celebrations are a great display of... of... what's the word I'm looking for?"

"Invigoration?" Logan suggested with a grumble. Dante shrugged, "Sure." I nodded my head slowly in agreement.

"Okay then. When do we 'celebrate'?" I asked. Logan spoke up.

"Right after you take a damn shower. You smell like a pig taking a mud bath," he grumbled. I continued to suppress the urge to strangle him.

"Okay," I complied. Dante and Logan made their way down the stairs, and towards the front door. I followed them out.

"Let's meet at my place this evening, okay?" Dante confirmed. I smiled genuinely.

"Alright," I replied. Logan turned to face me. He patted my shoulder.

"We're here for ya', Laurance. If you need anything, you know where to find us," he said. I smirked lightly.

"Thanks, Logan," I responded. Logan turned to leave before stopping once more as if he had forgotten to say something.

"Oh, and, Laurance? Could do me a favour?" he asked. I nodded my head.

"Of course, what do you need?" Logan stepped forward a bit.

"Seriously, buddy, get a mirror and fix yourself up. You look like a ship-wreck..." he muttered before walking off. I rolled my eyes.

"How the heck does Donna handle him?" I wondered aloud before kicking the front door to a close. I jogged my way up the stairs and into the bathroom. I looked in the mirror, and winced. Logan was right, I did look horrible.

I ran a hand through my hair, immediately thinking of the habit (Y/n) and I shared. I smiled. To be absolutely honest, I loved her to death. In fact, I loved her so much, there was no word eligible enough to describe how amazing she was. That was why I missed her so much.

But I had to man up, and endure her absence, just like Dante had said. With his words in the back of my brain, and (Y/n)'s smile embedded in my mind, I proceeded to get ready for the evening ahead of me.
