Laurance's P.O.V:

I'm a monster. I thought as I sat by a long stream water. Why do my feelings have to get in the way of my life?

I was upset. Not only because (Y/n) was about to be forced to marry a prince, but I had to turn into shadow knight and kill somebody.

I'm not a killer. Am I?

I had told Aphmau and (Y/n) that I needed to take a break. This was all too overwhelming.

I guess this shows how much I really love her, I thought to myself quietly.

I began to think about how this all started. Not from the very beginning though. Only from the part when (Y/n) ran away.

But why?

When I checked her house to see the damage she had made after she left, I saw shattered glass. What did she do? Throw something or-

All of a sudden, something came to mind.

Wait, after meeting Luna, her pet wyvern, I had kissed her. Then she left to go to her house. And that's when she...

My breath hitched.

The kiss. This started because of our kiss.

And I made the move.

This was all my fault. The reason we're here, the reason she was forced into marriage.

The reason we're lost. Alone. Cold. Scared.

I really am a monster.

My breathing started to quicken and my hands began shake.

I suddenly heard footsteps walking towards me. I quickly turned around to see (Y/n).

"Laurance? You okay?" She asked, her voice soft.

I shook my head as I stood up from my position.

"N-no. Get away from me please. I don't want you to get hurt anymore." I breathed as I backed away from her. She seemed confused as she neared closer to me, causing me to step back even more.

"Laurance what do you mean? If this is because of the... the wedding, I understand that you were conflicted by your feelings; but let's just talk about this." She encouraged, she came closer to me. I shook my head slightly as I stepped back from her. It then hit me that the stream was right behind me, causing me to tip backwards.

I felt a hand grab mine as I was expectantly waiting to fall into the water. Instead, I fell forward on top of someone.

It was (Y/n). Tears welled in her eyes as she looked into mine.

"It's because you care, Laurance. You care about me and always make sure I have what I need before you think about yourself." She whispered. I continued to look in her eyes. She took my silence as an opportunity to talk.

"You were conflicted between putting yourself before me or vice versa. The fact that I was in danger caused you to turn. Laurance, you are an amazing person, and I am so grateful for that. But please don't beat yourself up about this. It hurts to see you like this." She finished. Her tears were falling and so were mine. I was still on top of her.

"I'm so sorry." I whispered. She gave me a sad smile.

"You wanna talk about everything?" She asked. I nodded my head as I got off of her.

I sat down by a tree. (Y/n) rested her against my shoulder.

"I left Phoenix Drop because I was scared." (Y/n) said after a while of quietness. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

"Why?" I asked. She sighed.

"After you kissed me, I was confused. I have never transitioned feelings before. First I was hostile towards you, next I'm kissing you. It was too fast for me." She explained.

I exhaled a deep breath that I never knew I was holding. That made sense.

"I'm not emotional all the time," She continued. "but I keep it concealed when I fight or in the middle of business." She said. I nodded my head.

Then there was silence.

"(Y/n)?" I asked. She 'hm' ed in reply.

"Do you see me in your dreams?" I asked. I felt her stiffen.

"Um... yeah. Actually, I do." She replied.

I sighed in astonishment.

" I was just asking because, that is part of the reason why I was able to find you. The other part being that we were also captured by wolves on the way to Scaleswind." I said.

(Y/n) pulled away from her position and turned to face me. She cupped my face with her hands.

She leaned and kissed me. I slowly kissed back as I wrapped my arm around her waist played with her hair using the other. (Y/n) ended up falling on top of me. We pulled away from the kiss and I smirked.

"Will I be getting a lot of these once we're safe in Scaleswind?" I asked, my arms still around her waist.

She shook her head. "Don't push it."
