Your P.O.V:

"You're one minute late," Donna stated once I entered the house. I rolled my eyes.

"I'm sorry, I was up to something and lost track of time," I replied with a growl. I spotted Aphmau as she made her way down the stairs.

"Hey (Y/n)! So glad you could make it!" Aphmau paused before speaking. "But you are about a minute late," she finished. I dumped my things on the floor and turned to the girls.

"...So why am I here again?" I asked. Donna groaned.

"Oh come on girl, you should know why you're here! You left Phoenix Drop playing hard to get with Laurance, then you come back making googly eyes with him!" I scrunched up my face.

"We weren't making googly eyes!" I protested. Aphmau nodded her head excitedly and grabbed my hand; leading both Donna and I upstairs with her.

"You definitely were! You guys love each other so much, it's adorable!" Aphmau squealed. I cringed at how cheesy it sounded.

"Okay, fine. Ask me whatever you want," I said as I took a seat on Aphmau's bed. "But no matter what you do, I will not answer any of your questions," I concluded. Donna deadpanned whilst Aphmau face palmed.

"You know what? It's fine. We'll just tell the whole village that you and Laurance are official," Donna stated simply. I felt my left eye twitch. My palms began to get sweaty as the room suddenly began to feel stuffy. I slowly gulped. Before I got the chance to speak, there was an abrupt knock on the door.

"Ugh, let's go see who it is," Donna orated. Aphmau nodded and followed Donna out of the room. I exhaled a deep breath I didn't know I had been holding. That was definitely a close call.

Once we reached the bottom of the stairs, Aphmau unlocked the door. There in front of us, stood a man clothed in dark attire. He seemed pretty intimidating. His black hair looked messy, and he held a neutral facial expression.

"Um, hi... who are you? How did you get past the gates?" Aphmau interrogated. The man held out a hand for her to shake.

"My name is Gene. The gates were opened up for me by one of the guards at the front." The man paused. His eyes trailed all three of us. When they stopped on me, his gaze lingered before darting his eyes back to Aphmau.

"May I ask, are you the lord of this village?" Aphmau shook her head with a small smile.

"No, not anymore. My son, Levin, he reigns over Phoenix Drop currently. You can see him in the morning," Aphmau thought for a moment.

"But you probably don't have a place to stay, huh?" Gene nodded slowly.

"Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to have you stay over tonight. I'm always glad to help newcomers!" Aphmau cheered as she held her door open a fraction wider. I glared at the man as he made his way inside the house. My hand instinctively went to the hilt of my sword. This guy was seriously creeping me out, and I didn't have a good feeling about this.

Wait, what if I'm sleeping? I can't sleep with my sword. This guy could possibly kill us! I need to make sure both Aphmau and I are ready in case of a fight. Well, I guess I'm not sleeping tonight.

"Okay (Y/n), back to our talk!" Donna continued. I squirmed. I felt Gene's gaze on me, as well as both Donna and Aphmau's as well. I shifted upright in my seat and shook my head.

"I'm gonna be sick..." I muttered. I quickly walked out of the living room. I grabbed my bag and left the house.

"That guy is so creepy," I muttered. "Why did he have to come? The way he just looks at me... ugh!" I continued to walk along the path to my house. Once I got inside, I raised a brow at the scene.

"Laurance I swear, if you don't tell us, I'm gonna do it," Logan threatened as he held a couch pillow in his hands. Dante just laughed in the background. Laurance also had a pillow in his hands.

"Okay Logan, you just need to relax. Put the pillow down, or it will get to a point where I'll have to use my weapon," he joked as he held the pillow in front of him for protection. I shook my head and picked up a stray pillow that was on the ground. Dante spotted me. I quickly raised a finger to my mouth to shush him up. He nodded in understanding before turning back to the boys.

I snuck up behind Logan and wacked him on the head. He fell to the ground.

"Ow! What? (Y/n)! Why in Irene's name are you here?" I shrugged. Dante was dying of laughter on the floor while Laurance was trying his best not to laugh; miserably failing in the process.

"You sure do know how to hit people," Logan groaned. I laughed.

"Ha, ha! You think I don't know that?" Logan rolled his eyes and sat up.

"Okay. But really, why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be with Aphmau and Donna?" I looked to the side of the room as if there were something more interesting in that direction. I sighed.

"They were making me feel extremely uncomfortable. There was also this guy who supposedly just came to Phoenix Drop, and Aphmau let him in because he told us he had no place to stay. From then on I felt extremely weirded out. He was creepy and wore all black. He also kept staring at me, so I decided to come home," I finished. Logan, Dante, and Laurance exchanged pondering glances.

"Do you remember his name?" Laurance asked. I nodded.

"He said his name was Gene," I responded. Dante froze. I looked towards him.

"What's wrong Dante? Do you know who he is?" Dante shook his head quickly.

"N-no. He can't be..." Dante trailed off and looked at both Laurance and I.

"This is a personal issue. I need you guys to stay out of it for your own safety." He turned to Logan.

"I need you to go over to Kawaii-Chan's and pick up your kids. Tell her I might be home a little later. I need to see this man," Dante ordered as he left the house. Logan looked at Laurance and I before shrugging awkwardly.

"I guess I should get going. See you two tomorrow," he spoke, before leaving. Once the door closed, I felt Laurance's arms wrap around me from behind.

"What just happened?" I asked, my eyes still glued to the door. I felt Laurance shrug against me.

"I don't really know. All I paid attention to was when you said that this 'Gene' guy was staring at you," Laurance said. I rolled my eyes.

"Come on, let's go. I'm tired and I want to sleep," I whined. Laurance yawned.

"Don't have to tell me twice. I feel like I haven't slept for an eternity."

A/n: I'm also tired as well. I almost always am besides being hungry. Hope you enjoyed. Bye!
