Laurance's P.O.V:

"Laurance? You're spacing out again. Laurance!" I quickly snapped my head up and directed my attention towards Logan, who sat parallel from me. We were at Kawaii-Chan's bakery, getting something to eat while Dante was on patrol. Usually, I'd be attentive when Logan told me his stories.

But today just wasn't my day.

"...Sorry, were you saying something?" I asked. Logan deadpanned.

"Yeah. I've been talking for ten minutes straight, thinking that you had been listening to me this whole time!" Logan exclaimed. He huffed before taking a sip from his mug. He shook his head and put the mug on his cup coaster.

"Now I know how Donna feels..." he muttered, in deep thought. I glanced out the window, paying no mind to Logan's words.

When will she be back? I thought. Katelyn hadn't mentioned when the expedition would end. In speaking of Katelyn, she was pretty vague whist giving instructions last night and this morning before she left with the others. As if we'd just figure it out ourselves...

"LAURANCE, GOSH DAMN IT!" Logan shouted. Everyone in the café stopped what they were doing and looked towards our direction. I froze and slowly glared at Logan.

"What?" I asked, making sure to put emphasis on the word. Logan frowned.

"What do you mean 'what'? I can't even talk to you today without having to get your attention every five seconds!" he exclaimed. I sighed heavily before shaking my head.

"I'm sorry Logan," I said before looking around to make sure the customers weren't still staring at us.

Thank Irene they weren't.

"I'm just not feeling it today..." I trailed off before resting my head in my arms, which were crossed upon the table. Logan snorted.

"No, duh," he replied. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. I just wanted to sleep. With her, by my side. Running my hands through her beautiful hair. Looking into her marvelous eyes. Breathing in her warm scent. Kissing her soft lips...

"Hey, Lauran- you know what? Why do I even try..." I heard Logan mutter. A quiet 'ding' sounded from the entrance, signaling that someone had either entered or had left. I paid no mind to them though. I just continued to daydream.

I wonder if she's thinking about me. I hope she is.

A thought entered my mind at that moment.

We could still communicate through our thoughts, right?

Despite the urge to desperately talk to her, I knew that I shouldn't. Number one, Emmalyn would probably want us to refrain from communicating that way until further notice. And number two...

It made my head hurt. The last thing I needed on such a miserable day was a headache.

"Hey, Laurance?" another voice called. I groggily raised my head from between my arms and groaned.

"What?" I asked. It was Dante. He sat on the chair beside Logan, who looked deadpanned as he gulped down his cup of coffee.

When did Dante get here?

Dante frowned.

"What's got you so down today, buddy?" he asked. I shrugged before sighing. I really hadn't noticed that my mood was effecting others as well. I thought it only bothered Logan; which wouldn't have really come as a surprise.
