3rd Person P.O.V:

That night, Laurance couldn't sleep. He was worried, terrified even. Not for his safety, but for yours. He knew you were ready at all times. He knew you could protect yourself. He knew that no matter what, you were capable of handling anything.

So why was he worried?

That was the one question he couldn't bring himself to answer. Maybe he just wanted to protect you in case you ran into any trouble? Although these days, trouble was everywhere. He couldn't take it. And he was sure you couldn't either. Laurance turned to his left. You lay quietly beside him.

You on the other hand, weren't as worried as Laurance was. Earlier that day, you tried to soothe Laurance with "reassuring" words. Although, you weren't necessarily cut out for that position. You ended up making Laurance feel even worse than he had before.

"Even if Gene does abduct me, this isn't the first time!" you had said.

You felt bad for him. You didn't want Laurance to stress.

Laurance figured that it was no use to go back to sleep, if he couldn't do so anyway. He got up from bed and slipped on his shoes.

"Where's my sword?" Laurance mumbled. He recalled dropping his sword near the old part of Phoenix Drop when he saw you injured earlier. Laurance scowled himself. Had he been that forgetful? He really needed a break.

Laurance looked back at (Y/n) once more before heading outside. The wind softly blew through his hair and against his face. The stars in the night sky twinkled, as if each of them were yearning for the attention of those who spotted them. Laurance barely had time to look at the stars. He remembered doing so with you a couple of weeks ago. He wanted to do it again; with you. He wanted alone time with you. He wanted to hold you in his arms and tell you that everything would be okay- that nobody was after the two of them.

Dreams. They could be cruel. They trick you into thinking that life could be so enjoyable but really, it's all an illusion. A trick. Laurance hated that.

"Laurance! Hey buddy," a gruff voice called. Laurance turned to the source of the voice. It was Logan. He hadn't even noticed he'd been walking past his house in the first place.

"Hey Logan. What're you up to?" Logan shrugged.

"I just helped Donna put the kids to sleep. She was terrified. That 'Gene' guy had the nerve." Laurance nodded. Soon enough, the two of them began to walk towards the old part of Phoenix Drop; where Laurance had found his sword resting against a tree.

"So, how's that girlfriend of yours doing? Is she worried as well?" Logan asked. Laurance chuckled.

"No. I know she's tough, she can handle it. Plus, she's been through worse," he replied. Logan hummed.

"At least that's good to hear." Logan paused before looking at Laurance.

"Have the two of ever thought of having a life with each other?" Laurance stiffened. Of course he himself had thought of it on numerous accounts. But he didn't know if you were comfortable doing so. He didn't want to pressure you.

"Well, I don't know if she's comfortable or not. I don't want to push her to discuss these things-"

"SOMEBODY! COME QUICK!" a voice exclaimed! Laurance sprinted towards the direction of the cry, with Logan following close behind.

"Travis? What's going on?" Laurance asked once he met with the owner of the voice. Travis' back was facing the two men. Laurance stepped forward and couldn't believe what he saw.

"A-Aphmau..." Laurance trailed off. Logan shook his head in disbelief. There in front of them, lay Aphmau; unconscious. A small cut sojourned on her forehead as her blood etched the skin around it.

"I'll go call for help!" Logan exclaimed hurriedly. Laurance nodded. Travis turned to Laurance.

"I was just walking here and spotted a figure on the floor. When I saw it was Aphmau, I panicked. I don't see many people in this state," he explained. Laurance nodded.

"Thank you for letting us know. It would've only been a matter of time before we started worrying deeply about her." Travis nodded.

"Yeah..." he replied, immensely in thought.
