(A/n): This was gonna take too long, so I made two parts. I'll drop them both like it's hot. Enjoy!

3rd Person P.O.V:

"Well," Dante started, "here we are." Laurance looked up at the guard tower he had grown so accustomed to over the time he served for Phoenix Drop. It was like looking in a mirror; it all looked the same to him. There were no differences that could convince him otherwise.

Laurance was determined to try this one more time. Despite how frustrating it was to watch Michi, he knew that in the end, it didn't matter. Soon (Y/n) would come back and everything would be fine. It was as simple as that.

"Are you sure you'll be okay with watching her? She said a few things that ticked you off the last time, right? Do you think you'll be able to handle it?" Laurance waved his hand dismissively, a strong deja-vécu interrupting his thoughts abruptly.

"I'll be fine," Laurance said after a moment of pause. "Besides, all I have to do is control my inner Shadow knight, and everything will be fine," he reasoned, reassuring himself more than Dante. "(Y/n) will be back soon enough, anyway." His friend quirked an eyebrow in response.

"Is that what you've been telling yourself?" Logan's raspy voice cut in. "That as long as your girl is coming back, everything would be fine?" Laurance turned to Logan with a half-smile, ignoring the snarkiness in his comment.

"Um, essentially? Yeah." Logan rolled his eyes at Laurance's reply.

'And what if (Y/n) doesn't come back?' he wanted to ask. Instead, he kept his mouth shut; wanting to avoid any negative conversation. It would be best if he did.

But could Logan really let Laurance keep telling himself the same thing over and over again? Soon, it would get old. What if Aphmau's expedition was delayed and (Y/n) ended up coming home much later than "soon".

Laurance's overnight-divine-intervention-makeover phase was just beginning. He had told Dante that he was finally ready to get on his post and start working around the village again (which he should've been doing weeks ago). Laurance had gone on to express that he wanted to do something "useful with his life" instead of "lying around the place".

...Well, my Irene, it was about time.

Logan hadn't said anything much up until this point. He found Laurance's newfound motivation a bit...strange. Abnormal for a typical Laurance. And not to mention, the way he cleaned himself up. What a man he was.

"Logan?" Laurance asked, snapping the blond-haired man out of his thoughts. "Are you coming with me?" Logan frowned. Did Laurance not say he'd be going in by himself?

Logan groaned. "Fine. But I'm not staying there for long. I've got a family to feed." Laurance shook his head with a smirk. "Alright, Logan." He then turned to Dante. "I'll let you know if anything happens." And with that, he set off toward the guard tower's entrance. Logan stayed where he was and glanced at Dante.

"Do you think he'll be okay?" the blue-haired male inquired hopefully. Logan waved a dismissive hand in front of his face.

"Oh, please. You and I both know Laurance. When he has his mind set on something, he does it," Logan responded with a one-sided smile. Dante stuffed his hands in his pockets and shrugged.
