Laurance's P.O.V:
"What?!" (Y/n) exclaimed, as she stood up from her chair. I had to admit, I was kind of shocked myself.
"I'm not saying it's true. I just believe that it's possible. I mean, Aphmau is already on my list of divine descendants." Emmalyn reasoned. (Y/n) sighed and sat back down in her seat. I grabbed her hand and rubbed soft circles on it.
Emmalyn thinks that (Y/n) is a descendant of one of the divine warriors. She says that it might explain why she was able to read my thoughts.
But what about me?
I knew for a fact; or at least from my perspective as a person, that I wasn't a descent of any of the divine. Heck, I knew nothing in Irene's name about them besides the fact that they fought a big war.
"As for Laurance," she continued. "I think it may have something to do with the fact that you're a shadow knight." Emmalyn interpreted.
I raised a brow.
"If this is true, wouldn't I have been able to speak with Aphmau through dreams or thoughts?" I asked. Emmalyn looked uneasy.
"Like I said, I am not entirely sure. But I can say that it may have something to do with magiks." Emmalyn explained. She then turned to (Y/n).
"Do you have any parents that are still living?" She asked. (Y/n) thought for a fraction of a second before nodding.
"Yeah. My mother on that stupid island." She replied. I rolled my eyes.
"You have something with the word 'stupid'." I reasoned. (Y/n) countered by sticking out her tounge and I did the same back.
Emmalyn gawked at us before clearing her throat to get our attention.
"Oh my gosh! The two of you are so cute! You guys probably want to fool around and make-out just about now. You guys are pretty adorable together." Emmalyn indicated. I smirked towards (Y/n) pulled her closer to me, only for her to smack my arm.
"Actually, I think I do feel like making-out with her. It was something I had originally planned to do before coming here." I orated. (Y/n) rolled her eyes in annoyance and looked toward Emmalyn.
"So why exactly do you want to know if I still have living parents?" she asked. Emmalyn smiled.
"Because I am going to talk to them. In this case, your mother." Emmalyn declared as she sat up straight and adjusted her glasses. I raised a brow at her bold action.
"What do you mean?" (Y/n) asked. "My mother isn't even here; unless you-" she stopped talking once she realized where Emmalyn was going with this.
"N-no. No way. Nope! Sorry. I am not going back there in a billion years! Not today, not tomorrow, not ever!" (Y/n) complained as she got up to leave. Emmalyn stopped her.
"Wait!" (Y/n) turned around with an irritated look on her face. Emmalyn continued.
"Who said I wanted you to come with me?" she asked. (Y/n) deadpanned.
"Do you want me to come with you?" she asked. Emmalyn bit her lip and nodded.
"Yes, please consider it." she confessed. (Y/n) just scoffed and left.
"...Well, that went well." I stated after a while of silence. Emmalyn face palmed.
"Ugh! That girl just won't listen! Wh-... is she always this difficult?" she asked. I feigned a look of contemplation before answering.
"N- yes." I replied; not exactly satisfied with my answer. Emmalyn raised a quizzical eyebrow.
"What do you mean by 'n-yes'? Is she like that to certain people?" the librarian asked. I shook my head.
"Uh, no. Well, sometimes. If she hates you, she won't exactly be friendly towards you." I reasoned. Emmalyn nodded, as if processing the information.
"Got it... Laurance, will you please calm (Y/n) down and try to get her back here after a while? I... have some things I need to think about... yeah! That's it..." Emmalyn muttered as she left for her back door. I narrowed her down in confusion before heading out to find (Y/n).
Start the music please.
"You can't hide forever." I called. (Y/N) laughed dryly.
"Oh yeah? Watch me! Oh wait, you can't. Cause you can't see me!" she taunted. I rolled my eyes at her childish behaviour, and decided to look atop the trees that loomed over me.
"Ah ha! Found you." I enthused as I climbed the tree I found (Y/N) in. She pouted but rested her head on my shoulder once I settled down.
"I don't want to go back. My focus was all on getting as far away as possible from that place. I don't want to go back." (Y/n) whispered. I hugged her closer to me.
"Hey," I soothed. "I know you don't want to go back, but if you really want to solve our communicating-through-dreams problem, we might have to start from home... okay?" I asked. (Y/n) hesitantly nodded and bundled closer to me.
I don't want to lose her. I thought. And as cheesy as it may sound, it's true.
I really did love her. Way more than the petty little crush I had on Aphmau years ago.
My mind drifted off to when I first met (Y/n), and when we were on the boat to Phoenix Drop. Aphmau had kissed me. I told her that I had moved on. That I liked somebody else.
And that somebody else was (Y/n). She was the person that I really loved.
And she and I will be together (officially) one day. But I must say that I was curious as to what (Y/n) would say if Emmalyn did say the two of us should get married.
It's ridiculous, but I'm still curious.
I looked down at (Y/n). She had fallen asleep in my arms. Her hair was sprawled in all directions, including across her face. I brushed some strands out of her face and took the time to study her facial features.
She's beautiful. I thought. She really is.
