Being Grateful: Saga Two | Stupid Semi-Prologue

3rd Person P.O.V:

The next day was hectic. There were many people bustling around and getting ready to leave for New Meteli or Scaleswind. It would've only been a matter of time until the commoners found out about the village's new threat; Gene.

Many others in the village had decided to stay. Phoenix Drop was all they'd ever known. It was their home. They weren't ready to abandon it. Not for a very long time. If anything, they were willing to protect it.

Things were becoming a confusing blur. Trouble seemed to be lurking at every corner. You didn't like that. Laurance didn't like that. Nobody liked that. But everybody was making an effort to maintain themselves and the village.

Here you were, on another boat. With the rest of your comrades (without Laurance with you). Searching for land that the Phoenix Alliance could depend on. But first, all of you had to make a quick stop at New Meteli for supplies.

Aphmau had woken up yesterday. It was extremely late at the time, but you and Donna took it upon yourselves to watch her for the night. Once Aphmau had woken up, you apologized to her a numerous amount of times for leaving her to face Gene alone. Aphmau forgave almost immediately. She knew you had been injured at the moment. It was only human to do what you did.

But what happened yesterday wasn't as important as what was going to happen today. Another expedition had been taking place; and everybody needed to be alert and ready at all costs. Including those inside and outside of the village.

After finding out that you'd be going on an expedition without Laurance by your side, you make an effort to last yourself until the trip is over. But when over-hear Katelyn talking to Aphmau about extending the expedition, you begin wonder if you'd really make it without seeing Laurance. Yet again, you're stuck on another 'stupid' island.

But there's another problem. Aphmau's state from the time she fought Gene seems to be getting worse. Dizziness and tiredness have been consuming her for a while. And right around that time, somebody from the expedition goes missing.

In this 'stupid' saga, both you and Laurance begin to realize that the two of you are almost vulnerable without each other; and that the two of you are truly grateful for each other.
