Poor Kili was in pain, groaning and yelling on a small wooden bed. We needed to help him, but in order to do that we needed herbs.

"Can you not do something?" Bofur asked.

"He's been in pain for far too long." Thingol added.

"I need herbs, something to bring down his fever." Óin explained.

"We have nightshade, feverfew..." Bard replied.

"They're no use to me." Óin said.

"Do you have any Kingsfoil?" I suggested.

"Aye, that'll do the trick." Óin agreed.

"No, it's a weed. We feed it to the pigs." Bard explained.

"Pigs?" Bofur repeated. Then he seemed to have hatched an idea. "Weed? Right...Don't move."

Bofur took off, in search of the Kingsfoil.

"As if he could." Gilornel retorted.

As we waited for Bofur, Kili continued to yell from the pain of his wound. Then out of the blue, the house shook rather violently.

"Da?" Sigrid asked as she turned towards Bard.

"It's coming from the mountain." Bain added.

"You should leave us. Take your children and get out of here." Fili suggested.

"Fili's right. None of this is your fault, you should all go before any of you get hurt." I added.

"And go where? There is nowhere to go." Bard replied.

"Are we going to die, da?" Tilda then asked with a frightened look.

"No, darling."

"The dragon, it's going to kill us."

That's when Bard pulled out a black arrow from the story. So it is true, Girion's his ancestor.

"Not if I kill it first." Bard said in a determined tone. "Bain, come with me."

"Don't worry, Bard. We'll watch over Sigrid and Tilda while you're gone." I assured him. "Good luck, Bard."

Bard flashed a small smile in gratitude. "Thank you, Líreth."

With that Bard and Bain left the house. We then awaited for Bofur to return with the Kingsfoil, which took a long while.

"What's taking Bofur so long?" Kyra asked.

I placed a hand on Kili's forehead, and his fever wasn't coming down anytime soon without the Kingsfoil.

"We're going to need that Kingsfoil soon or else..." I trailed off.

The door opened and quickly closed, I whipped around to see Bain back inside, but without Bard. He must be waiting for the beast.

"Where could that lad be?" Óin inquired.

"I'll check to see if he's close by." Sigrid offered.

And with that she walked outside, but after a few moments I heard her screaming. I immediately rushed over to find her trying to close the door on an orc. I place myself in front of her and stab the orc with a dagger.
