We finally arrived in Rivendell, where I saw Lindir waiting for us, along with a familiar face, which I recognized to be Gandalf. My eyes wandered towards the dwarves, and I was intrigued to find dwarves here in Rivendell.
The dwarves were all bunched up together into a small circle with their weapons out and pointed toward us. We then circled around them until we completely surrounded them. I didn't pay much attention to them, since I was too into my thoughts. However I did pay somewhat of attention to Elrond's and Gandalf's conversation. Elrond then dismounted off his horse before he greeted Gandalf. "Gandalf."Gandalf then bowed gracefully. "Lord Elrond. Mellonnen! Mo evínedh?"
"Farannem 'lamhoth i udul o charad. Dagannem rim na Iant Vedui." Elrond explained.
Elrond then gave Gandalf a hug, and once he pulled away, he spoke again. "Strange for orcs to come so close to our borders. Something, or someone, has drawn them near."
"Ah, that may have been us." Gandalf replied.
"Welcome Thorin, son of Thrain." My mind blanked out and my head snapped out.
Thorin?! I followed Elrond's gaze to see Thorin, he still looked the same with the exception to a few silver strands in his hair. My heart pumped even faster and faster with every second. Thingol, Gilornel, Mîlel, and Kyra all looked at me then back at Thorin. They must be waiting for us to speak to each other.
"I do not believe we have met." Thorin stated.
"You have your grandfather's bearing. I knew Thror when he ruled under the Mountain." Elrond commented.
"Indeed, but he made no mention of you." Thorin retorted.
How could he insult him? I was confused and numb, all my thoughts and emotions spun around me.
"Nartho i noer, toltho i viruvor. Boe i annam vann a nethail vin." Elrond informed Lindir as he looked at the dwarves.
"What is he saying? Does he offer us insult?!" A dwarf with red hair snapped.
The dwarves began to yell as their weapons around their grasp tightened. Gandalf quickly spoke up. "No, master Gloin, he's offering you food."
Gloin? As the dwarves whispered amongst themselves I scanned them all, and I was shocked to see familiar faces. What shocked me even more was to see Nanor, Oreth, and Húron. Just like Mîlel, Oreth grew into an adult.
"Ah well, in that case, lead on." Gloin replied once they finished whispering.
My eyes met Elrond's and he glanced over at Gandalf who nodded. They wore both amused looks when they both looked at me. W-what's going on?
"I believe I have something you're looking for." Elrond said to Thorin. He then signaled me to come forth along with Thingol and Gilornel. Once I stood by Elrond and Gandalf, Thorin's eyes widened and his jaw dropped. "L-Líreth?"
"Líreth?!" Nanor exclaimed.
"Aunt Líreth?!" Húron and Oreth exclaimed.
The dwarves that I recognized greeted me all at once, making me smile. "Líreth!"
"Nice seeing you again, lass!" Balin exclaimed.
"Líreth! It's great seeing you!" Dwalin chimed in.
"Líreth! Great to see you, remember me?!" Bombur asked.
"Líreth! What a great surprise, look, Thorin can hardly believe it." Gloin said, teasing Thorin.
Everyone laughed at Gloin's words, while Thorin grumbled. When his eyes met mine again, there were tears in them, and I'm pretty sure there were tears in mine.
"I thought I'd never see you again, amrâlimê." He confessed as he took a step towards me.
"And I thought I would never see you again, nîn meleth." I replied. "Why didn't you return? It's been 137 years, Thorin?"
"Amrâlimê, allow me to explain-" Thorin began, but was cut off by Gilornel.
"What excuse is there? To leave the one you love for 137 years?!"
"Gilornel!" Thingol scolded.
"Gilornel, please not now." I warned.
"And who are you?!" Thorin snapped.
This surprised Gilornel and tears were threatening to fall. "Who am I? Oh nobody important, just your daughter."
"Daughter?" Thorin asked, baffled.
"And I'm your son." Thingol said before they both stormed off.
"Perhaps this isn't the best place for this conversation." Elrond chimed in.
"Agreed, I'll see you at supper." I said to Thorin.
"Amrâlimê-"
I ignored him as I scurried off, following Thingol and Gilornel. Maybe Gilornel was right, there has to be a specific reason why he didn't return in 137 years. I finally reached Gilornel's chambers to see Thingol and her. Gilornel was in tears, while Thingol was comforting her, but fighting to keep his own tears back.
"Thingol! Gilornel!"
They both looked up to see me enter her chambers. "I'm sorry, I don't think your ada meant anything."
"I'm not to so sure about that." Gilornel retorted.
"Listen, your ada never knew I had either of you. He left before I could say anything." I confessed.
Gilornel and Thingol remained silent, but before I could say anything else, there was a knock on the door. "Enter."
Lindir then appeared. "Elrond sent me to get the three of you for supper."
"Thank you, Lindir, tell Elrond we shall join shortly." I replied.
With that he left, Gilornel and Thingol gave me shocked looks. I bet they thought that I'd turn down going to supper.
"We are going to act civilized, despite your ada being there." I informed them.
"Yes nana." They both said.
"Good." I said with a nod. "I'll see you there then, I must change my attire."
And with that I left Gilornel's chambers and returned to my own to change.
