The next few days we spent with both our children and grandchildren. I was in the gardens one day, while Thorin was with the children and our grandchildren. There I spotted Arwen sitting in a wooden bench with vines wrapped around.

"Arwen!" I exclaimed.

Her face lit up upon seeing me. "Líreth! It is good to see you."

She gave me a tight hug before we both sat down on the bench. Arwen seemed much more happier than the last time I saw her. I wonder what happened while I was gone.

"How are you, Arwen? You seem happier than the last time I saw you." I commented.

Her smile widened. "I am much better now. Five years ago, Aragorn came to Lothlorien. When we spoke, he told me that it would take a while until he believed would be ready to reclaim his throne. I assured him that I would wait no matter how long it would take. So we became engaged."

"That's wonderful news!" I exclaimed.

Arwen nodded. "It is, but I also would like to thank you."

"Thank me?" I asked. "Why?"

"Aragorn told me that you talked to him while you were both in Rohan. You pushed him to visit me in Lothlorien." She explained. "Had it not been for you, he would've continued to push me away. Le channon, Líreth."

"It's not a problem." I assured her. "I understand what you're going through. Despite the tensions between dwarves and elves, I kept my relationship with Thorin, and we got married. I know that one day he will die, and for him I'm willing to give up my immortal life. Because I will follow my beloved husband anywhere, and I can't bear the thought of never seeming him again."

Arwen smiled. "I understand perfectly well. I am willing to do the same with Aragorn."

My smile widened. "Good! That's what I wanted to hear. I am so happy for the both of you! You deserve to be happy, Arwen."

The time went by, and soon we had to return to Erebor. We said our goodbyes before making our journey back home. Thorin gave me a smile as he rode his pony alongside my horse.

"We are finally going home, nîn meleth." I said.

He shook his head. "No, amrâlimê. My home is where you and our children are. Without you, no place would feel like home to me...not even Erebor."

My smile widened at at his words, and my heart skipped a beat. I'm so fortunate to have this loving dwarf as my husband. I bent over and gave him a gentle kiss on his lips.

"How did I get so lucky?" I asked.

Thorin wore a loving look. "I ask myself the same thing every day, amrâlimê."

As we traveled back to Erebor I knew that as long as I had Thorin and my children by my side I would be complete. There was nothing more I needed than the ones I love. After everything we've been through I was content into living a long peaceful life with my beloved family...Little did I know what the future would bring.
