The next morning, I turned to find Thorin no longer in bed. No doubt that he must've gotten up early to search for the arkenstone. I sighed as I changed into a blue tunic with black pants and black boots. After I changed, I heard Galadriel's voice. "The time has come, we must search Dol Guldur, Radagast had informed me that Gandalf is in need of help."

"Now?" I asked in my mind.

"Yes, it is essential that you leave Erebor immediately." Galadriel insisted. "We need you, Líreth. Please hurry."

With that I quickly gathered my things, grabbing my belt and weapons. I carefully snuck through the mountain until I reached the front. I was so close to leaving, until I heard a voice. "Líreth?"

I was half relieved that it wasn't Thorin, but unfortunately I was still caught. I turned to see that it was Nanor.

"Gwathel, where are you going?" Nanor asked, worried. "You don't mean to leave us?"

"Of course not, but our cousin, Galadriel has asked me for help." I explained.

"Galadriel?" He repeated, clearly not believing me. "That can't be...I haven't heard from her or seen her in ages."

"But she lives on, she and her husband, Celeborn live in Lothlorien. Now I must go to Dol Guldur." I replied. "That's where I'm meeting her, Gandalf needs our help."

"Then I'm going." Nanor informed me.

I shook my head. "No, it's best if you stay behind."

"I'm going, and that's that."

"Fine." I sighed. "But we're going to need horses."

He grinned. "Leave that to me."

He then whistled and not too long after, two black and white horses approached us. How did he? I looked at him with my mouth wide open.

"You still surprise me, tôr." I said before mounting on one of the horses.

He chuckled. "Lead the way."

Thus we made our way from Erebor into Dol Guldur. Without any rest, it took nearly an entire day. By the time we arrived at Dol Guldur, night had fallen and the sky looked rather gloomy.

"I don't like this place." He muttered.

"You don't have to. We're merely here to help Gandalf." I reminded him as we mounted off our horses.

As we approached the ruins of Dol Guldur,
we heard a voice that spoke in Black Speech. "Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky. Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone."

The ends of my hair stood up. My face broke out into a scowl. I remembered Sauron's voice well enough.

"Nine for mortal men doomed to die." I heard Galadriel's voice.

"She's here, hurry." I said as I quickened my pace, climbing through the fortress. "I fear we do not have much time left."

"You cannot fight the shadow. Even now you fade. One light alone in the darkness."

"It's Sauron's voice." Nanor confirmed. "He's back?"
