Koda's Thoughts
"I think she should feel pretty good about this." Said our client who was standing, her hands on her plump hips looking around at the decorations.
"I sure hope so." Martin, my boss said. He wiped his hairline and took the bottle of water from his son Brad. He then offered a gently smile.
"I'm sure she will. She always said this was the best time of her life when she went. I thought, 'hey, why not decorate it this way and theme it up?'" The woman laughed. "But thank you guys so much for the help."
"It's no problem." I said to her, smiling.
"And you're one of the performers tonight?" Her large brown eyes fixed upon me.
"Yes ma'am." I responded.
"You're not from around here are you?" She inquired. I simply shook my head. "I can tell. The accent. Southern." She couldn't resist, I could tell because she reached out and touched my arm. "I'm jst teasing. It's adorable. Ya' know people here love stuff like that."
"So I've heard, yes ma'am."
"Is this fine young man yours?" She asked, gesturing to Brad behind me. We both looked at each other and shook our heads. "No."
"Oh. Well, you two are down right cute together. I mean, if you were." Awkard silence courted us like a lover until the woman spoke again. "Well, it's almost five now. I should go and get everyone. See you all at six!" The woman grabbed her bag off the table and walked (woddled really, she was kind of big, no offence).
"That was interesting." Martin was the first to speak.
"Yeah. So, is this what you're wearing to 'perform'?" Brad tugged my sweater and made a face at me.
"No. My outfit's in the back." I pointed behind me.
"Is it a sleasy one? Like Miley Cyrus?" he asked. "Oh that's right. Miley doesn't wear clothes. So are you dancing naked?"
"Bradley." His dad said. "What are you talking about?"
"Miley Cyrus." he answered.
I was laughing hysterically. "No Brad, I'm not going to dance naked. If you stick around long enough you'll see what I'm wearing."
He shook his head solemnly. "Sorry, I gotta work tonight. So I won't be here."
I nodded. "Well, thanks for your help bro." I punched his arm.
"It's no problem bro-dawg ham-sandwhich."
"Stop try'n'a be all gangter and stuff. Just go." I pushed him away.
"Try'n'a? Is that even english?" he joked as he walked away.
"Shut your mouth Richardson! And yes it is!" I smarted back to his laughing face.
"Alright Kodes, see ya' later."
After the door shut and Brad was gone, I turned to his dad. "Are you sure that's your son?" I asked.
"Sometimes it challenges me to think not."
I laughed.

Zach's Thoughts
When we pulled up to the club it wasn't at all how we expected.
"Thanks Jesse for making us late. Now there's no place to park." Jeremy tapped the driver's seat as we all looked around in the dusk for a spot to park. There literally were no parking spots anywhere near the club.
"Well excuse my ass for doing so. Sor-ry." Jesse said swerving around in the road. "Holy damn. How many people does like fucking lady know? Half of L.A it seems." We drove down and around the block.
"Seems like it."
"Do you see Koda's bike anywhere?" I asked.
"We're all looking for a space to park ourselves and you're worried about where she is." Jesse joked. "She's here Zach, she kind of has to be."
"I know that dumbass." I responded. "Look, there's a spot by the Eclipse." I pointed to a white Mitsubishi off to our right. Jesse swerved that way.
"Fuck Rutherford! You trying to give us whiplash?" Bryan asked from up front. He grabbed his neck like the rest of us.
"Oh don't worry. A few drinks and you'll be craning your neck all kinds of ways to get to places." Jesse winked at our drummer.
"Oh yes." Bry said back, still rubbing his neck and rotating his head.
"Well come on. The Bartender isn't going to waite on herself."
"That doens't make any sense Jes." Mikey said as we all got out. I scooted out of the middle in the back and shut the door on that side. I tugged at my jacket feeling slightly insecure about what I was wearing. My black Vans with white shoe strings, my black skinny jeans, and my leather jacket with nothing under it and a beanie. My skin felt hot but chilly as the air from the floating California breeze coasted itself along my body. If only it were here hands.......
"Names?" The bouncer asked as we reached the door. He held a tiny clipboard in his massive hands.
"The Neighbourhood." Jeremy answered.
It took the man a second or two, flipping pages, but apparently came up empty. "Sorry, no 'The Neighbourhood' listed." Just when we thought things were gonna turn sour and I dressed like this for nothing, Koda's boss appeared in the doorway.
"It's okay Layjew." He said to the freakishly huge guy. "They're some of Koda's friends. They can come in."
Heaven is on our side today.
"Alright." We walked past the guy to the entrance way and immediately the pound of bass bounced my bones in there sockets. The sound system in here was great.
We looked around at all the shifty bodies of chicks and guys dancing and laughing and sitting and talking. There were beads and feathers everywhere, and by the lettering and a few gynormous costumes two dudes had on, this party was definitely "Mardi Gras" themed. The song changed and everyone cheered, causing noises that would hurt sensitive ears. (Thank goodness we're used to all this). Another song picked back up just as we saw the bar.
It. Was. Packed. People crowded the glass top like there were growing off of it. Some people were desperately trying to squeeze out of the hoard while others were ordering and craning their heads to see if they could go up next. In the hustle I didn't see Koda at all.
"You go talk to your girl. We're gonna go party." Jesse yelled over the noise. I only nodded and went back to my frantic search. Skin, outfits, feathers, drinks, people... all clouded my vision like bugs in my eyes. I simply could not find her.
"Hey sexy stuff." A girl said by me, tapping my shoulder. I knew immediately it wasn't Koda. She doesn't sound so rhaspy.
"Hi." I said before I went back to looking.
"You look like your looking for someone. Who? Your girlfriend?"
"I wish..." I mumbled under my breath. "Uh..... yeah."
"Oh. Well, if you can't find her, come look for me. I'll be on the floor hot thang, just hit me up!" She winked at me and threw her mask back over her face. Out of habit I checked her out as she walked away. She was hot but..... not like how I had gotten use to seeing. She's one of those aggresively hot bitches that you had to jerk your head back at. No sir-ry. Not today!
I gave up my search and sat in a lone table by the door. The hoard was not getting smaller and over everyone it was impossible to see anything. I sighed and slouched, watching the grooving bodies of party-patrons as they grinded away on the dance floor.
