Koda's Thoughts
"Okay, alright. Just let me see okay? Thanks Brad, bye."
I hung up the phone, and the feeling of excitement hit me like a ramming football player. I couldn't contain it any longer, so I ran down the steps,a gleaming smile on my face.
"Guys! Guys Guys!" I yelled as I skidded to a halt in the kitchen. They were just coming back from the studio and were coming in the back door. Don't ask me why.
"Babygirl!" Jesse said, his eyebrows a little furrowed. "What's the deal?"
"I have a question to ask!" I pracitically screamed. Zach came over to me and placed a gently kiss on my lips once, then twice, then three times; the third time tracing my lip with his tongue.
"Zachio man, let her ask her question." Jeremy said. Zach just chuckled and wrapped his hands around my waist.
"Okay...." I shook with happiness.
"Spit it out Babygirl." Jesse said.
"She's got nothing to spit out." Mikey said, looking really confused as he just now entered the room.
"She might later." Zach whispered for only me to hear.
"Naw, I wouldn't spit it out." I mumbled back to him.
The other remaining three slowly turned to their bassist.
"Are you really that fucking stupid?" Bryan asked.
"What?" Mikey asked.
"Where you not here like three seconds ago?"
"No, I just got in the door."
They nodded. "Oh. Well, she's got something to say."
I smiled. "Alright. My dad's birthday is coming up at the end of this month and I have a gift for him. So I was wondering if you guys would like to come wih me?"
"Yeah." Jesse, being the leader as always, nodded. "Yeah. We'll book a plane and-"
"That's just the problem." I said shyly
"What is?" Jeremy asked, leaning into the refrigerator.
"We can't take a plane."
They all looked at me like I was bat-shit crazy.
"Why not?" Zach asked me.
I studied for a moment. "The gift is kind of too big to fit in a plane."
"What the hell is too big to fit in a plane?" Mikey popped in.
"That's what I'm saying." Bry added.
"Go on with what you were saying." Jes motioned for me to continue.
"Okay so I wanted to know if you guys might would want to take a cross-country road trip with me to take my dad the gift. His birthday is February twenty-eighth which is this coming up Sunday. I figure if we leave by Thursday we'll make it by then."
"Where are we going anyway?" Jeremy turned around from fixing a sandwhich on the counter.
"Where I'm from. Georgia. My home town."
It was silent, and I was getting scared.
"Of course." Jesse finally answered after what felt like nights and days. "I believe we can do that."
"Yeah." Zach nodded by me.
"So we'll leave Thursday?" Mikey asked.
"Yeah."
The vocalist nodded. "Alright. We'll let management know we'll be gone for a few days and in the mean time pack."
"That means we got three days to get our stuff together?" Mikester looked at us.
The look on everyone's face when they turned to him.
"OH! Mikey can count!"
"Yes, yes he can."
"You guys are assholes, I'll have you know." He said back.
"Well those shoes look like it so..."
"Hey don't rat on Mikester's shoes. Those things are beautiful." I answered, immediately on the dude's defense.
"Thank you!" He gestured to me. "Someone knows the beauty."
"Haha."
"So, it's settled?" Jes clapped his hands. "A three-day cross country trip destined for Babygirl's place of birth?"
Everyone agreed.
"Alright, well, let's hop to it."
