Chapter 219: Emergency Quest

After looking at the items we could forge, we both decided to hold off on crafting anything and left deciding to head to the inn to turn in for the night.

The morning came early, and after our morning ritual we went out into the forest to hunt.

It was about midday we returned.

However,...

As we stepped into the town there was different feeling, like entering an «instance».

The town appeared desolate, overrun with monsters; [goblins], [vorves], and [black dogs]. Inside the town was a deep mist, the same mist within the forests.

"Xuelian, what's going on?" I asked as I materialized my weapon.

"I-I don't know...," Xuelian replied readying. I could sense the concern in her voice.

A prompt appeared in front of me.

{Quest: Clear out the monsters or defend the town until the barrier restarts. Death of townspeople results in a mission fail.}

After the prompt disappeared a timer appeared in the corner of my vision, reading {300 seconds.}

Ten seconds later the timer started to countdown. Some of the monsters prowling around turned their sights on us while others attacked the town.

"Tsubasa, let's go!" Xuelian shouted taking off into the swarm of monsters.
