Chapter 350: Cloaked in Shadow

Xuelian's voice then rang put breaking my trance-like thoughts, "Tsubasa are you okay?"

"Huh, what? Oh yeah, I'm good; just trying to take everything in," I hastily replied.

"Oh, okay, Let's get started then. See you after we win."

"Yeah, sure," I said trying to fake a smile.

I pressed accept, then with a smile on her face Xuelian broke the seal on the entrance and walked through the fog.

After a few moments I mentally prepared myself and walked through the fog.

On the other side of the gate was a large, open arena with stone walls covered by trees, shrubs, and vines. The area was open, the night sky visible from above. Hanging low in the sky was the moon. It's form was huge, it's color a pale blood. It seemed as if it were watching from above.

Then something caught my attention, cloaked in the shadow of the pale moon, a large figure. As my attention homed in on it. I could hear a sort of crunching, chopping, and snapping sound, like bones breaking.

I stood there in silence transfixed on this unearthly sound. Rarely has the game ever evoked in me a sense of dread.
