Chapter 262: Confidante

The sun had begun to set around twenty hundred hours, and about twenty minutes later we were in place. Cyrus and our group was towards the back of the formation that was thinly spread throughout the outcrop. Our group used the items [Vial of Sweet Scents] to ward away monsters.

We were instructed to do whatever it took to avoid a battle of attrition; however, we were instructed to pull back and regroup if things got intense.

We were lucky that the outpost was not that large, however they had the high ground. At the range we were at it was impossible to hear what was going on. We waited for what seemed like ages, for the signal for us to attack.

Before the battle Xuelian confided in me that she didn't want to attack other players like this. To her it felt cowardly, and dirty. However, she felt if this battle could get things back on the right track then she would bury those thoughts.

Even I was not too keen on this method of handling the situation, though I know I couldn't come up with an alternate solution to this problem.

Soon after we heard the sounds of battle begin.
