THE GIFTED TWINS

Once there were twins whom had special gifts, one was named Taiyo and the other Tsuki.

Both boys were helpful, but it was Taiyo whom was adored, for his gifts were of great use to their village.

His first gift allowed the plants to grow and his second drove the coldness of night, He was also brave and strong.

On the other hand Tsuki's first gift was almost the same though not as powerful; but his second gift was unknown, He was shy yet kind, and so he remained in his brother's shadow.

One day Taiyo was summoned by the emperor, the ruler saw how Taiyos' skill would be of better use to their land and so Taiyo thought it was his duty to follow.

And so Tsuki was left.

Upon his brother's departure, the village was left with a void that needed to be filled, and so the people made sure that Tsuki would fulfill that.

Not wanting to disappoint the townsfolk Tsuki agreed.

On his first day he was told to tend to the rice fields as his brother did, and so he did.

He was very diligent doing the said chore, yet days passed and there were just a few improvements on the fields, unlike when his brother did it.

"His not much use unlike his brother" the villagers said.

And so Tsuki bowed his head in disgrace.

Still they gave him another task, this time he was to go with some of the village men to help guard the fields from the Yukinko whom trampled it at night.

Darkness came and the little yokais giggles were heard, when they came hopping out of the forest an unbearable coldness came along with them, giving the villagers a hard time fighting.

Tsuki used all his might to fend them off yet he was of no use for the Yukinko were many.

In the morning only half the field was saved.

"This would have not happened if Taiyo was here" the villagers said.

And so Tsuki bowed his head in disgrace once again, as the people looked at him in disgust.

Upon his brothers return he hid himself in shame.

He was forced to come out when he heard the screams and cries of the villagers; the place was on fire for his brother was aflame, scorching everything in sight.

Tsuki saw how the people rejected Taiyo as he begged for help while crying helplessly on the road.

Knowing how it felt, Tsuki immediately ran to his brother's side ignoring the painful heat from Taiyos' flames.

Tsuki hugged his brother tight as he reached him, making sure his brother would know that he was there with him, in moments the flames stopped and Taiyo returned to normal.

It was then found out that Tsukis second gift was to keep his brothers power at bay.

And so from then on though the emperor called and the villagers asked the brothers only did what they thought was needed.
