LUCY KNIGHT: A STRESSFUL BEGINNINGS
Lucy Knight is no stranger in McArthur Elementary School. With a gifted mind, the girl joined numerous contests that brought pride to her school, not to mention her outstanding music skill in caressing the guitar.
"Congratulations Lucy. We're so proud of you," Mr. Knight chimed while hugging his unica hija later that graduation.
"Since you're a salutatorian, we're having no trouble in choosing a school for you. You simply are wonderful," Mrs. Knight added.
Amidst the three months of vacation, Lucy was beyond ecstatic for school.
"Welcome students to Hamilton Academy. I'm Ms. Henderson, your class adviser," a short woman spoke.
Lucy was sitting in front-center of the room, making sure to breathe in every juicy knowledge before anyone does.
As expected, everyone was amazed by her wits and talent. Until the first periodical exam came, everything around her became vague and blurry.
"Okay class; listen carefully. Do a summary of the stories we tackled and explain what its importance. Due on October 14."
"On or before October 14, please submit the problem sets I just gave you now, both for algebra and statistics."
"Lucy, can you perform this song? The teachers want a short program to inspire the students. It's on October 14."
"Ms. Knight, there will be a quiz bee on October 13 about history. Ms. Henderson recommended that you should join."
A kid who doesn't know how to say no, agreed to the invitations and had no choice to finish the given tasks.
With her childhood self leaving and replaced with puberty, Lucy was having a hard time coping up with her academics. The experience made her see that life is not all about toys and play time.
While doing her projects, Lucy felt something new yet scary. Her mind was pounding with all the crazy ideas and brainstorming. Her heart was beating faster, eyes starting to sting, and breathing is shorter than usual; she was stressed with everything. Even though it was her first time, she felt scared. So her only solution was to rest.
Being the jolly person, her older brother Logan was curious with the silence and visited her in her room. Without being surprised, she saw his sister sleeping on the study table with a book and laptop in front of her.
"Hey sis. Wake up. We're going somewhere," he said while nudging Lucy in the rib. She obeyed and set foot on a short journey.
As if Logan was a mind reader, he dedicated a day of fun with his sibling. They watched a movie, ate at her favorite diner and played at the arcade.
"Lucy?" he called before they part ways for their bedroom.
"If you need help, I'm here. I know school is rough but you can do it," he smiled and left.
Since that night, she was happier to ask for help and didn't hesitate to express her stress that made her feel lighter. From then on, she became the brightest, wisest, and prettiest student of her batch.
