Movie night finally came after a long time of anticipating. Batman was waiting in his entryway, because Harley was supposed to pick him up. He had expected that Joker would pick him up, but Joker was preparing a pillow fort for everyone to sit in. Batman only could really tolerate Harley when Joker was nearby, so he wasn't looking forward to the ride there. Richard was a little disappointed that he couldn't come, but he understood that this was a grownup activity, and he might not like the movie anyway. Batman told his son that he could come to their next movie night, though.
Harley arrived at Wayne Manor later than she insisted she would come, which was expected. When she did, loud hip hop music was blaring on the radio, and she was blowing a piece of bubble gum. She was wearing rose-tinted glasses that made her look a bit like a little kid. The comparison was only furthered by the fact that she was wearing pajamas. Batman had heard that there was a casual dress code, but he didn't know that it was that casual. He had just decided to wear a Justice League t-shirt with some sweat pants (with his cape, of course.)
"GET IN, LOSER. WE'RE GOING MOVIE WATCHING!" Harley yelled, loud enough for Richard and Alfred to hear it inside the house.
"Okay, let's get this over with," Batman murmured while grabbing a gift bag that was next to the door. Harley's eyes brightened when she saw it.
"Ooh, what's in the bag?" Harley asked excitedly.
"It's not for you," Batman replied with a deadpan face.
"Well, I know it's for Jokey, but that doesn't mean I don't want to know."
"It's a bit of a joke gift, so don't get your hopes up."
"Are you kidding? Joke gifts are the best gifts! Tell me!"
"FINE! Do you remember the time that Joker gave me a bracelet and then tied me up with it?"
"Yeah, I got to hit you in the face!"
"Since we've been dating for about a month now, I wanted to celebrate it by giving him a bracelet. Instead of a bat on it, though, it has a heart. You know, like an ace of hearts."
"That's so romantic! You must really love him."
"Of course, we were practically made for each other. Not to brag or anything, but we're an ultimate power couple."
"I'm aware of that. I wish I had a happy relationship like you two."
"I'm sure Ivy would appreciate that."
"Just because she has a crush on me doesn't mean we're dating. Don't get me wrong, she's nice, funny, really pretty, understands me, and always has my back, but that doesn't mean I like her back."
"Are you sure?"
"Y-yeah. Anyway, we're here," Harley told Batman, parking her car in front of the lair.
Harley walked to the door quickly, her face with an apparent redness to it. She rang the doorbell, and Ivy arrived to answer it. Ivy had put her hair up, and she was also wearing pajamas. Batman was starting to regret not getting the memo. Harley whispered something in Ivy's ear, which made the plant lady giggle a bit. The two women walked indoors, with Batman following close behind. Joker peeked out from the kitchen to catch a glance at his boyfriend. When he saw him, his eyes lit up. He walked up to the costumed man, his eyes instantly shooting to the gift bag. Batman noticed that his pajama top had a design that had three boxes with an X in the last one. Next to the empty boxes said Single and Taken, and next to the filled in box said Mentally Dating Batman.
"You aren't exactly 'mentally' dating me anymore, are you?" the hero asked, raising an eyebrow.
"The shirt was given to me as a joke about five years back, but I loved it so much that I haven't thrown it out," the clown replied, looking down at the shirt as well.
"Well, it looks good on you."
"You think so? It's pretty small on me."
"It makes it even cuter."
"Babe, you're embarrassing me in front of my friends."
"Oh, you think this is embarrassing? You should see how I am on Valentine's Day."
"What do you do on Valentine's Day?"
"You'll just have to wait and see."
"I can't wait," Joker said to Batman, giving him a kiss on the cheek. There was now a red stain on Batman's cowl, but he didn't notice.
"Love ya, honey," Batman told Joker with a gentle smile. Joker's grin faded a bit as he thought about how much Batman loved him, and how he was betraying his trust by falling for Bruce Wayne. It wasn't that he didn't adore Batman, he just felt like he should give Batman every ounce of love that he could, instead of sharing it like some sort of lunch snack.
"I-I love you too, sweetie," Joker replied.
"Sorry to bother you lovebirds over there, but there's a movie that needs to be watched over here," Ivy reminded the two.
"Of course, shall I escort you to the pillow fort?" Batman asked his love, holding out his arm as if they were going to the red carpet.
"Why, it would be my honor," Joker answered with a Hollywood scarlet accent.
Batman plopped down in front of the TV on a particularly comfortable pillow. Joker sat down next to him and laid his head on his boyfriend's shoulder. Next to them, Harley and Ivy sat next to each other (very close, if I do say so myself). Harley struggled with the remote for a while before finally turning on the movie. Ivy walked back to the kitchen, seeing as how she had forgotten the popcorn with bean dip. They were just going to skip the bean dip, but Ivy had spent so long on it that the villains were just going to dip the popcorn in bean dip if they got super bored. They had also put out some chips anyway, this was a long movie after all. The movie started out with a black screen, which ensued that they were in for a great time.
