The group of villains (+ Batman) continued to watch the movie, humming and singing along with the songs. The three villains did at least, because Batman sure didn't. At one point, Harley tried to sing while also eating popcorn. Needless to say, Ivy had to perform the Heimlich maneuver. Batman was now attempting to fall asleep, but it was pretty difficult with the blaring TV, Harley coughing up her stray piece of popcorn, and Joker loudly singing "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston. Before Joker and him started dating, Batman had assumed that villains would always plan schemes or perform acts of treason in their free time, not sit around like pre-teens watching chick flicks. Eventually, Harley finally spit out her piece of popcorn.
"Hey, Ivy. I just realized that the lead actress in this movie looks a lot like you," Harley told her friend, a little croakily.
"You mean Nicole Kidman? That's so nice of you to think that," Ivy replied, beaming.
"Yeah, now that I think about it, Nicole Kidman could probably play you in a DC movie," Joker added, taking his attention away from the movie.
"Heck, at least she'd be better than Uma Thurman was," Batman pointed out.
"Please, don't remind me of that," Ivy told Batman.
"Don't worry, Uma Thurman is better than Jared Leto," Joker assured Ivy, shivering at the thought.
"Are you sure? Jared Leto's problem was that he got too into character, while Uma Thurman barely cared about her character at all," Harley rationalized.
"Ugh, can we stop talking about bad movies now and just watch the good movie in front of us?" Ivy asked, turning her head back to the TV.
"Yeah, before we start talking about that 'Martha' scene," Batman said, remembering a shameful moment in his past.
By that point, they were almost halfway through the movie. They had finished the popcorn, so they had moved on to the chips, (which tasted a lot better with the bean dip). There seemed to be about three different plots going on in the movie, including the love triangle between Ewan, Nicole, and the Duke, Nicole's disease, and putting on the actual play. Honestly, the story was a bit of a mess, but the pretty colors and the music saved it. Everything can be saved with pretty colors and good music.
"Why is Satine even hiding her secret from her boyfriend? Honestly, what's keeping her from telling him?" Harley asked aloud to no one in particular. Batman and Joker both fell silent at the question. Both of them knew that they would need to tell the other their own secret some time soon, but something kept stopping them from telling each other. Joker's obstacle was shame, and the fact that he knew that telling Batman the truth would be awkward for them. Batman's obstacle was that telling Joker his secret identity would make him more vulnerable, and was the equivalent to giving a robber a code to a safe.
"You know, if we do another one of these soon, we should watch The Matrix," Harley changed her own conversation.
"Nah, we should watch Tim Burton's Batman," Batman suggested.
"No, Little Shop of Horrors!" Ivy suggested.
"No, The Room!" Joker suggested, probably more excitedly than he should've.
"The Room? As in, 'You're tearing me apart, Lisa'?" Harley asked, remembering hearing about the film.
"Yeah. What, do we have to watch good movies together?" Joker asked in return.
