Joker dragged his feet back to his friends and sunk into the couch. The other two looked at him with pity. They knew how much he wanted to party at Wayne Manor, and how much he genuinely wanted to spend time with Batman. From the looks of it, he wasn't getting either tonight. Harley skated over to him and gave him a comforting pat on the back. Ivy pitied from a distance, continuing to eat chips and bean dip. Joker wasn't crying, but it was clear that he might. He almost felt like he wasn't being a good boyfriend, because not only did he have a thing for Bruce now, but Batman must think that he's using him.

"Oh girls, what do I do?" Joker asked, hugging his legs.

"Do something that involves breaking the law? You know, like you used to do before you got stuck in all this romantic crap," Ivy suggested.

"Or, you could do some sort of grand romantic gesture, like hold a boom box over your head or hold out giant flashcards for him to read," Harley offered.

"Please, by that logic he might as well go over to Batman's balcony and start quoting Shakespeare," Ivy retorted, rolling her eyes.

"Jokes on you, Ivy. That's actually a great idea, isn't it J?" Harley asked her grieving friend.

"Maybe something a little simpler than that would be better. Maybe I could sing a song outside his window," Joker rationalized.

"How about Bad Idea from Waitress: the Musical," Ivy offered, still caring more about her chips.

"IVY, SHUT UP," Harley yelled at her friend, "Hmm... what about Guillotine by Jon Bellion?"

"Sure, that song kind of matches us," Joker agreed.

"Great, I'll go get the guitar, the amplifier, the drums, the microphone...." Harley said, getting up to get her musical equipment.

"Harls, if I'm going to do something romantic, then I want it to be something from the heart. Thanks for the song suggestion, but I can take it from here," Joker said, standing up to get his own equipment. As he left, Ivy quietly shook her head with a small grin.

"They grow up so fast, don't they?" Ivy asked like a proud mother.

"Yeah, they do," Harley agreed, knocking a tear out from under her eye.

.....

A little while later, Joker walked out from his car to confront his boyfriend. He took out an amplifier with an aux cord attached to the end. His phone had a karaoke version of Guillotine that was ready to play. That, and he had a cord that was attached to a microphone that he planned to sing into. He set everything up outside of a stray window. This window was what he believed to be Batman's room. After all, on the night that he stayed over, this was the room that he had went into. So, the criminal plucked a slingshot out from his pocket and shot a single pebble at the window. Nobody went to the window, so Joker shot again. After two more pebbles, someone finally went to the window. Unfortunately, it wasn't Batman.

"Hey, Joker. What's with the equipment?" Bruce Wayne asked.

"I.... uhh.... Can you bring Batman out? This is for him," Joker said nervously.

"Oh, I see. A grand romantic gesture. Classy."

"Y-yeah, it is. Can you please just go get Batman?"

"Right. He's probably in the Batcave. Knowing him, he's probably solving a big mystery or something."

The way Bruce said the last part seemed almost... dreamily. Maybe he was just complementing Batman's work, but it seemed like he was very fond of him. Chances were that Joker was just self conscious. Still, but Joker and Bruce both liking Batman and  Joker liking Bruce seemed very complicated. Man, if only there was a way that this love triangle could be simplified. While Joker was still dwelling on this, Batman showed up at the window.
