For the next few days, while Joker was devising a plan, Harley was following his idea-planning and finding out a way to stop it from coming to play with Robin and Catwoman. Ivy never did join in on the group chat, and Harley wondered why. The only time she did try to contact Ivy, it didn't go very well...
Harley was trying to FaceTime Ivy, yet someone else answered.
"Put your hands up, criminal!" Barbara answered.
"What're you doing here, police lady?!" Harley asked, her phone shaking in her hand.
"Ivy couldn't make it to the phone, so I did. She's at Home Depot at the moment."
"Wait, so you and Ivy are living together?"
"Oh no, we're just hanging out. God, can you imagine? A villain and a good guy dating?"
"You realize the irony in that?"
"Okay, a villain and a good guy that aren't entirely crazy, that is."
"Fair enough, but why are you two hanging out?"
"I don't know, she's actually a pretty cool chick to chill with."
"I'm sorry, did you just say 'a pretty cool chick?'"
"Yeah, you got a problem with that?"
"I do! You're disrespecting my friend!"
"Take it easy, I didn't mean anything by it."
"Oh, I should take it easy, huh? How would you feel if your best friend started hanging out with someone on the opposing side instead of you?"
"That already happened."
"Great, so since you couldn't have Batman anymore, you went after Ivy then."
"Uh, why do you want to hang out with Ivy so much?"
"Is there really a reason why I need to hang out with her?"
"Yeesh, are you... pardon my play on words... green with envy?"
"Envy? What do you think I am? Some sort of lovestruck puppy that falls for anyone who gives her the time of day?"
"Ehh..."
"*gasp* Well, screw you too!" Harley yelled into the phone. She hung up on Barbara and folded her arms. So the reason that Ivy wasn't hanging out with her was because of some stuck-up policewoman? Gah, what was Ivy thinking? And for that matter, what was Barbara talking about with the whole 'envious' thing? Harley wasn't envious! If anything, she was envious of herself for not having to hang out with those weirdos! Besides, Robin and Catwoman were totally awesome buddies! It didn't matter that they didn't get her musical references or her crazy humor...
.....
Joker was laying out the steps and blueprints for his plan. So far, his plan would be to place poisonous gas tanks in the gorgeous chandelier in the dining room, so when they sit down for lunch, they sit down for doom! Joker had asked The Mime to place the tank there since Harley, Ivy, and Catwoman were busy. He didn't know what was going on between them the past few days, but he figured that they were planning a girls' night. Why they hadn't asked any of the other villainesses to join them, Joker wasn't sure. There was probably some girl drama or whatever.
The clown was planning on where how The Mime could make it to the dining hall when he got a text from someone. He ignored it for a little while, but then he got another text. Joker figured that it was just someone being super obnoxious and texting twice in a row, but it ended up being two different people. When Joker checked his phone, he found that the two texts were from Bruce and Batman. It seemed to be a rather large coincidence that they both sent their texts so soon between each other, but Joker wasn't noticing that at the moment. Right now, his cheeks were beginning to warm up with curiosity of what these texts said.
Bruce's said: I'm so sorry for happened a little while ago, I don't know what came over me. Can we go back to being friends?
Batman's said: I just realized that it's been a while since our last date! Does Friday at the Grand Theatre sound good to you? I'll pay for the popcorn
Joker looked between the two texts. He didn't know which one to answer first. It was clear that Batman wanted to continue their relationship while Bruce did not. So, why wasn't Joker jumping to the opportunity to go on another date with Batsy? Was it because even though Bruce insisted that he didn't have any feelings for Joker, his constant flirts and smooches said otherwise? Well, I mean that must be the answer, or else that was incredibly specific for no reason. Besides, that answer was probably long enough to sound smart anyway. After all, long answers equal smart answers, right?
Harley knocked on Joker's door and entered in without Joker giving her the okay. This annoyed Joker a little, but honestly, he could really go for someone to talk to right now. Harley sat down in a particularly large and villainous chair. Joker wasn't sure why he had that chair, but then he remembered the stuff that he would buy in the middle of the night on eBay. Chances were that this chair was a result of that. When Harley sat down, her eyes flew to the blueprints and the planning sheets. Joker had a sneaking suspicion that she was planning to stop his plans. That meant he would need a distraction for her while he carried out his plans. But what could he use as a distraction?
"Hey Harls, how have things been with Ivy?" Joker asked, knowing that Ivy would instantly take Harley's attention.
"Ivy? You mean that backstabbing prick? No, I haven't seen her in a while," Harley responded, only glancing at Joker, which concerned the other villain.
"What? I thought you two were girlfriends!"
"Girlfriends? Why does everyone think we're dating?"
"Sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I meant like girl buddies!"
"Didn't sound that way. Why would I fall for such a dumbie anyway?"
"I'm sorry, did I miss something? You two used to be barely separable!"
"That was before she decided to become besties with Lil' Miss Barbie Doll."
"And that would be...?"
"Barbara Boredom."
"Ah, I see. What, are you afraid that they're dating or something?"
"Again, I am not in love with her!"
"Really? Weren't you telling me that you once gave her a kiss on the cheek?"
"As a joke!"
"Ivy didn't think so."
"Well, shut up!"
"Listen, I'm not going to force you to fall for Ivy, but I don't want you to lie to yourself."
"Ugh, I'm not in love with her!"
"Well, why do you care about Ivy so much?"
"Just because you will fall for some random person you've known for a long time doesn't mean that I should!" Harley yelled before bursting out of the room. Joker was a little hurt, yet his distraction worked in the end, so all in all, he was ready to start his plan.
