Thirty Three

Ok so even though season 3 was disappointing, I'm still missing it. Cant believe that have to wait till October to see what will happen next. Watching the re-runs of the show will hopefully get me through half of the time.

"Ok, we can't just stand around here and wait for something to happen. HR and Cisco are there with them and sooner or later they will figure out that we are here and come for us. By the looks of it, they know a lot about us then we know about them," said Iris.

"She is right. Barry is gone to that lab in hopes of finding something. But I also have faith that he will be here sooner than we think," replied Caitlin.

"Caitlin, come on. We all know that they aren't going to just let them go without anything in return. Cisco is already tied down otherwise he could have used his Vibe to get out of there," added Julian. "We can't stay here. We need to get to the lab and we need try and get out of here and get the word out. Joe is also meant to be coming here soon."

Iris slowly opened the doors and checked for the coast. Slowly she creeped out and made her way to the Cortex. Caitlin and Julian followed close behind and kept an eye on their surroundings. They came to a stop here the doors of the cortex where they could once again hear the voices of Jules, John and Amanda.

"Where is he? I hate having to repeat myself, I just want him and I promise not to harm you both," yelled Amanda.

"They don't know about us or where Barry is. Maybe that's the only advantage we have here," whispered Iris.

They came closer to and now they had a view of the three people inside. On the floor, they saw Cisco and HR. By the looks of things, they seemed to look fine and unharmed. How long was this going to last?

Caitlin tapped on Julian and Iris's shoulders as they now saw John pull out a gun and point it towards Cisco. The atmosphere in the room suddenly changed and became even more tense. They had no time to waste and they were running out of options.

"We have to distract them and get them to leave the cortex," whispered Caitlin. "We don't know what they are capable of."

"Julian, you stay here and when they come to find us, go and make sure that Cisco loses those bracelets. Once he is free, he can help," explained iris. "Caitlin and I will try and get two of them out of the room."

With a nod, they ran past the doors, making sure that Amanda, Jules and John saw them. And sure enough, Julian heard John and Jules run out of the cortex and run in the direction in which Caitlin and iris had just run off to.

Caitlin and iris came to a stop, trying to take deep breaths in. They tried to hear if anyone was following them and sure enough they heard footsteps.

"Are you sure they went this way. I mean there are so many rooms and hiding places in this place. What if we are going into a trap?" asked Jules.

"What are they going to do? Its not Flash, because he would have taken us out by now," replied John. It must be that girlfriend of his and that lab scientist chic."

Then silence, Caitlin and iris stood behind a door and waited for someone else to speak yet nothing. Even the footsteps were gone.

"Do you think they are gone?' whispered Caitlin.

They came out of their hiding place and slowly made their way towards where they had just come from. There wasn't anyone there and the hall way seem normal. Then chills ran up their backs as they heard the clicking of the gun. With a sinking feeling in their stomachs they turned around and saw John and Jules standing there with gun pointing at them. They had been made.

Julian came running from the back and came to a holt as he saw the scene unfold. He watched in shock as John faced the gun at iris, then Caitlin and now Julian.

"Look at that, more Team Flash members and yet still no Flash himself. He must be such a coward if he is willing to be away from this place hiding while his friends are at gunpoint."

'Well, let's see what he does when we start killing one member at a time for the longer we have to wait for him," said Jules.

A grin spread across John's face as he stopped the gun in front of iris. "Let's start with her".

Everything around them froze as the gun went off which was aimed at iris. Without thinking, Caitlin stepped forward and pushed Iris out of the way and they both hit the floor hard. Without wasting any time, Julian ran to their side and picked them to their feet and started to run towards safety. Another shot was fired and missed.

Caitlin stopped suddenly as she took in deep breaths. Julian and Iris stopped as well. "We don't have time to stop. They are right behind us and I couldn't get to Cisco," said Julian.

"I... I can't... aaahhhhh," screamed Caitlin as she pressed her side. Pulling back her hand, they all watched in surprise as blood covered her hands. "I'm fine," she lied. "We have to get to the others and find a way out. John and Jules aren't in the mood to mess around anymore." She started to make her way again with the help of Iris.

They came closer to the pipeline, when the room started to spin and her vision started to blur out. The pain started to become more and more unbearable. She didn't know how much longer she could make it without passing out. Caitlin leaned against the wall trying to fight back the darkness. But it was getting too much for her to handle. Her eyes started to roll back as she gave into the darkness.

She started to fall back and Julian saw her and she saw him step forward....

Julian stepped forward as he saw Caitlin fall back. Iris also turned to see the events unfold. Julian extended his hands but Iris was shocked to see that he wasn't going to hold her. No his hands were going towards her necklace.

"Nnnooo," she screamed.

But it was too late, as Caitlin fell back, Julian's hands grabbed the necklace and as she fell the necklace pulled and ripped out of her neck. Caitlin continued to fall back and seconds before she was about to hit the ground someone caught her.

Iris and Julian watched as Barry held Caitlin in his arms and slowly they went to the ground. He held her tight and tried to wake her up but she didn't respond.
