Seventeen

Barry tried to process the information that Caitlin had filled him in about the stone. As expected, Caitlin had many questions that she wanted answered and no one knew how to tell her or if it was even worth filling her in. 

"Barry you're not even listening to me now are you?" Heard Barry. 

"Caitlin, there is so much happening and I would love to tell you but it too complicated. I don't even know where to start. Some of which I even don't get," said Barry finally. 

"I though you said no more secrets. No matter what the situation is, I want to help," insisted Caitlin.

Barry looked up at her in surprise. Even with no memeory of the past few years, she was the same Caitlin that he had woken up to after being in a coma for  9 months. Still determined to go head on to help him no matter how scary the situation was. Her determination and strength gave him the strength to fight and keep going. Given the choice to walk away from this life, she still chose to be here. 

"What, did I say something wrong?" Asked Caitlin.

"Why do you want to get dragged into this all again. You can easily walk away and don't have to go through so much because of me. I mean you don't have to be here," stated Barry. 

"Yeah I don't have to but I want to. We have been through this all before and I said it before. I must have stayed here for a reason and even though I don't really remember what, I still know that it is here where I belong. With you guys. Trying to stop whatever is happening and by the whole atmosphere here I know there is more than what you have told me," replied Caitlin. "For one who or what is a Savitar and what is it about him that is scaring you all?" 

Barry fell silent. He didn't want her involved in this. This was his only chance to change her fate for the future and he had blown it. Her knowing again could put them back to square one. 

"I promise I will let you what you want to know but not now. It is more complex and difficult then you can imagine. I promise that when the time comes, you will know," answered Barry.

Before Caitlin could argue, Cisco came running in. He looked like he hadn't slept for weeks, hi hair was a mess and he was wearing the same cloths as yesterday. 

"Barry, I don't know if it's them or not but I have a robbery happening at 731 Lillian Plaza. It's a research facility and not much is known about that place. From the information that came through the radio, there are some casualties," informed Cisco. 

"I'm going in. But how do you know it's them?" Asked Barry. 

"Becaus the security guard was found unconscious outside. When police questioned him, he can't remember. He had lost the past 24 hours of his life. We have to assume that it is them," said Joe. He was all geared up and ready to go too. 

"Barry, I think you should take Caitlin with you," interrupted Cisco. 

"What, why?" Asked Barry.

"Because I just looked up what the place is and it's a medical research facility. To be on your safe side." 

Caitlin could see him hesitate but then he nodded. Within a second he was back and he was wearing his Flash suit. "OK hang on," he said. 

Caitlin looked at him werid. "How...?" 

Barry came close and Caitlin was swept off her feet as he lifted her up and into his arms. "Make sure that you hold on and brace yourself," adviced Barry before speeding out of the labs.

They came to a sliding stop on the alleyway of the Plaza. The perimeter had been cleared out and in the distance the police barrier could be seen. Barry opened the doors and caitlin walked in. It was dark but the more the went in they could see the entry. They were coming in through the car park. Silence. 

"How exactly are you planning on finding them?" Asked Caitlin. 

"Well my only option is to supersped and check out the whole building. You should wait here, I'll come and get you when the coast is clear," said Barry. 

"No the best thing for me to do is my job. I should go to the main office and see what they been working on here," insisted Caitlin. 

"That's dangerous and we don't even know what they do here and if we are just walking into a trap," argued Barry. 

"I know that you want to protect me because you think that im on a disadvantage with this memeory loss but I have a job to do like you do. You are wasting time right now," pushed back Caitlin. 

She started to make her way up the stairs and into the main building. Barry rolled his eyes and followed her. How could she be so bossy, that's not how she was before. Maybe she was testing him especially since he was keeping things from her to protect her. 

"Stay here, for a second. Let me check out the area and then you do what you must while I go around," suggested Barry. Caitlin nodded. 

After a few seconds, Barry approached again. "This floor is clear. You should be fine here. I'm going to find the casualties and the people behind this. Try and find out what are they here. What are they after?"

Barry cleared the other levels and finally arrived at the last floor. Like the other ones it was silent. As he looked around, he heard some noises. Being alert he looked around. This had to be the place. Before he could do anything, there was a loud bang and for him everything went into slow motion as he saw a bullet coming his way. 

Yup definitely the right place. Dogging it, he landed in a corner where he saw 3 women and 4 men tied up to the floor. 

"Let them go," called Barry. 

"I can ask you to do the same thing with Amanda," answered a males voice. 

"You are the same people who attacked STAR Labs?" 

"Very good Flash. We heard that your girlfriend got affected. The blast was meant for you," came a female voice. 

Barry, taking in a deep breath sped to the direction of the voices and came to a holt when he arrived at the scene. They had tricked him. They weren't there at all. Taped to one of the guys was a table recorder. It was broadcasting live. 

Did they get what they came for? Was this all a trap? What was their plan?
