Chapter 2

{Chris's POV} 

When I woke up Luna was still sound asleep, I gently climbed out of bed without waking her and walked downstairs I walked into the kitchen my mom was making coffee I sat down at the island my mom sat a coffee mug in front of me.

"Was Luna surprised when you asked her to be your girlfriend?" my mom asked.

"I chickened out again like I did when we went to prom together." I said. 

"Christopher, just tell her how you feel and she might surprise you and feel the same way." 

"How do you tell your childhood best friend that you are in love with them?" 

"You and Luna can sit in the living room and watch The Nightmare Before Christmas and Hocus Pocus like you too used to do when you were kids." my mom replied. 

"Sounds like a plan." I said. 

When I was finished drinking my coffee, I walked back upstairs to my room I walked into the room I looked over at Luna, she was still sound asleep I got dressed and walked into the bathroom when I came out of the bathroom Luna was starting to wake up. 

"Morning sleeping beauty." 

"What time is it?" 

"It's 9:00 in the morning" I said. 

"What would you like to do today?" Luna asked. 

"I was thinking about taking you out for the day and tomorrow I'm going back to my house." 

"Can I please live with you?" 

"Of course, you can live with me." I replied. 

I grabbed my coat and left my room and closed my door behind me so Luna could get ready I walked back downstairs and walked into the living room I sat down on the couch my mom came into the living room. 

"Mom, I'm taking Luna out for the day." 

"Have fun and be safe I have a special dinner planned since you and Luna are staying here." 

"When I go home tomorrow Luna is going with me." I said. 

"Maybe by then you too will have confessed your true feelings for each other." my mom replied with a smile. 

"Let's hope one of us can pluck up the courage and confess our true feelings for each other." 

"Christopher, if you don't tell her how you feel tonight when you too are watching The Nightmare Before Christmas and Hocus Pocus then I will have no choice but involve your band brothers." 

I heard Luna coming down the stairs she came into the living room I got up off the couch and left the house with Luna we walked down the porch steps and climbed into my SUV, I put the key in the ignition and started the engine I turned on the heat and drove away. Luna and I were listening to a local Rock music radio station they were playing "Last Resort" by Papa Roach; Luna turned the song up and we sang along Luna looked at me and smile and then "Creep" by Radiohead came onto the radio Luna sang along I looked at her and smiled. 

"Would you be angry if I took you to a bookstore?" I asked. 

"Of course, not because you know how much I like to read." Luna said with a smile. 

When we arrived at the bookstore, I parked in the parking lot and killed the engine Luna and I got out of the SUV and walked into the bookstore I waited for Luna while she found some books Luna walked over to me with her arms full of books, I looked at Luna and smiled and shook my head. 

"Are you excepting a snow storm?" I asked teasingly. 

"No, I don't watch TV too much and when you're on tour and I'm home alone I'm going to need something to do." Luna said. 

I paid for Luna's books she looked a little embarrassed I treated her to Starbucks I got her, her favorite coffee Luna and I were sitting outside of Starbucks and she looked embarrassed and sad which is odd for Luna because she has never been this closed off before or quiet. 

"Luna what's the matter?" 

"I feel embarrassed because you bought me the books and then you bought me a coffee." 

"It's never bothered you when I did it in the past." I said confused. 

"That's because in the past I had a job and I would pay you back for what you bought me even though you didn't like me doing that." Luna explained. 

"Did you lose your job because of your mother?" 

Luna looked at me with tear filled eyes and nodded I reached over and held her hand she looked at me and cried I handed her a tissue I grabbed her shopping bag and led her back to the SUV, we climbed into the SUV, I put the key in the ignition and started the engine and drove out of the parking lot. When we arrived back at my mom's house I parked in front of the house and killed the engine Luna and I got out of the SUV and walked up the porch steps we walked into my mom's house Luna walked upstairs I took off my coat and followed behind Luna, I walked into my room and hung my coat up in my closet I sat beside Luna and wrapped my arms around her. 

"I am really sorry that your mother caused you to lose your job." I said. 

"Chris, do you think I cause people to leave me and do you think I'm unlovable?" Luna asked. 

"Of course, not you do not cause people to leave you and you are not unlovable you are very lovable." 

"Christopher, Luna dinner is ready!!" my mom called. 

Luna lifted her head up I wiped her tears we walked downstairs Luna and I walked into the kitchen and joined my mom at the table she made spaghetti after dinner I helped my mom with the dishes. 

"Mom before you even asked no, I didn't tell Luna how I felt I chickened out again it's prom night all over again." 

"Would you like me to get your band brothers involved." 

"If Ghost finds out I chickened out again he will kick my ass." I said. 

"Just tell her how you feel and hope for the best." my mom replied. 

When I was finished helping my mom put the dishes away, I walked upstairs and walked into my room I grabbed my Joker pajama bottoms and walked into the bathroom when I was finished in the bathroom, I left my room and walked downstairs I walked into the living room and put The Nightmare Before Christmas into the DVD player and joined Luna on the couch. I started the movie and turned off the lamp Luna and I sang along to "This Is Halloween" when the movie went off, I stopped the DVD and put the movie Luna and I walked upstairs we walked into my room and climbed into bed I turned off the lamp and fell asleep.
