Chapter 52

{Chris's POV} 

When I arrived home from taking Celaena and Mandy to school I parked the SUV in front of the house and killed the engine I climbed out of the SUV and walked up to house I walked inside the house I locked the inside door behind me. I took off my winter jacket and hung it up I heard Luna in the kitchen I walked into the kitchen and walked up behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist Luna leaned back against my chest I kissed her cheek. 

"Hi. beautiful." 

"Hi. handsome." 

I nuzzled Luna's neck she playfully pushed me away I leaned against the counter Luna looked at me and giggled I looked at her and smiled I made coffee for me, and Luna I sat her coffee on the counter. 

"Baby what would you like for Christmas?" I asked. 

"I'm not really sure because there isn't a book that I want. What would you for Christmas?" Luna asked. 

"Do you count?" 

"Babe you already have me. Is there a new CD or Vinyl that you would like?" 

"I'm not really sure." I said. 

After breakfast I was sitting on the couch playing Halo, Luna came into the living room and joined me on the couch and watched me play Halo, I leaned over and kissed her cheek Luna looked at me and blushed. 

"Babe I'll be back I'm going to finish Christmas shopping." 

"Be safe and I'll see you when you come back home." 

Luna kissed me and left the living room I stopped the game and put it back I turned off my Xbox One I left the living room and watched Luna get into her SUV and drive away I walked down the hall and opened the door to my office. I walked inside my office and grabbed my laptop, power cable and fan I left my office and walked back into the living room I sat down on the couch and plugged up my laptop I went Christmas shopping for Luna my cellphone was ringing I grabbed my phone off the coffee table and answered it. 

"Hi. mom." I said. 

"Christopher is Luna home?" my mom asked. 

"No, she went out to finish Christmas shopping and I found the perfect gift for Luna online." 

"What did you find for Luna?" 

"You know how much Luna's dog meant to her?" I asked. 

"Of course, her dog meant the world to her she was devastated when she had to have him put to sleep." my mom said. 

"I am thinking about having her dogs photo made onto a throw blanket." 

"Luna would love it very much." 

When I got off the phone with my mom, I uploaded a photo of Luna's beloved Chow Chow Buddy to have his image made on the throw blanket I couldn't wait for Luna to open the special gift I finished shopping for Luna a few minutes later I heard her come into the house.

"Babe I'm back." Luna called going upstairs.

"I'm in the living room." I said. 

I shut down my laptop and took everything back to my office I put my laptop, power cable, and fan back in my office I left my office and closed the door behind me I heard Luna in the kitchen I walked into the kitchen she is emptying out the oven. 

"Do you sense when I am about to bake?" 

"You know me so well I love your baking and cooking." 

"Is that why you love me for my cooking and baking?" Luna asked teasingly 

"Of course not." I replied. 

I sat down at the table and kept Luna company while she baked cookies, I was playing on my phone Luna walked over to me and kissed me I playfully bit her bottom lip she looked at me and blushed. 

"Babe aren't you going to get the girls from school?" 

"Kevin said that he was going to drop Celaena and Mandy off because he was coming here so they can finish the last little bit of their projects for History and English." 

"Celaena seems to really like Kevin she seems to be more comfortable with him than when she was with Jason." She explained.

"I agree Celaena seems really happy to be dating Kevin." I said. 

I helped Luna finish baking the cookies a few minutes later we heard Mandy, Celaena, and Kevin come into the house they came into the kitchen and sat down at the table and worked on their projects Luna passed me a plate of cookies I sat the plate in the center of the table. 

"Kevin, would you like to stay for dinner?" 

"Let me send a text to my parents." 

I helped Luna put the last tray of cookies in the oven I decided to cook dinner outside on the grill Luna came outside and handed me my winter jacket I put on my winter jacket I kissed her cheek she looked at me and blushed. 

"Angelo and Kelly said that Kevin can stay for dinner." Luna replied. 

"Want to stay out here with me?" I asked. 

"I'll stay out here with you and keep you company. Aren't you cold?" 

"Not really the cold doesn't bother me much and I have a surprise for you later on." 

When dinner was ready, I handed the plate of stakes to Luna and followed her back inside the house Celaena, and Mandy were dishing up the rest of dinner Luna sat the plate in the center of the table the girls sat the plates on the table. After dinner I went back outside to clean the grill Mandy came outside and sat on the back steps when I was finished cleaning the grill, I sat beside her on the steps. 

"Mandy are you okay?" I asked. 

"No, I don't have anyone to spend Christmas with because my father wants nothing to do with me and my mother is trying to get her life together." Mandy said somberly. 

"Mandy you can spend Christmas with us because you are like a part of the family." 

"My mother is really glad that you and Luna took me in after my father kicked me out." She explained. 

"You didn't have anywhere else to go so Luna and I took you in because we care about you." I said. 

Mandy and I walked back inside the house I left the kitchen and hung up my winter jacket I walked upstairs to mine and Luna's room I walked into the bathroom when I came out of the bathroom, I walked downstairs I walked into the living room and sat down on the couch. Luna came into the living room and joined me on the couch I grabbed my guitar and sang "Eternally Yours" Luna looked at me with tears in her eyes she wiped her tears when I was finished singing, I put my guitar down Luna climbed onto my lap I wiped her tears and kissed her we smiled against each other's lips. Luna climbed off my lap I turned off the lamp and scooped her up in my arms I carried Luna upstairs to our room I gently laid her down in bed and laid down beside her Luna covered us up I reached over and turned out the lamp I snuggled up behind Luna we fell asleep.
