Chapter 42

{Chris's POV} 

I was sitting on the edge of the bed putting on my Vans when I felt Luna stirring, I leaned over and kissed her forehead and lightly brushed the back of my finger against her cheek. 

"Go back to sleep my graveyard baby."

Luna rolled back over and went back to sleep I grabbed my keys, phone, and wallet I walked downstairs and walked into the kitchen Gaia was making breakfast for her and Celaena I made myself a cup of coffee and joined Celaena at the table. 

"Luna still sleeping?" Gaia asked. 

"She did wake up when I was putting on my shoes, I told Luna to go back to sleep." I said. 

"Should I save Luna breakfast?" 

"I wouldn't because I'm not sure what time she'll wake up I'll stop at Starbucks on the way home from taking Celaena to school." 

After breakfast Celaena finished getting ready for school I washed up the breakfast dishes Celaena, Gaia, and I left the house Celaena and I climbed into the SUV, I put the key in the ignition and started the engine I turned on the heat and drove away. When we arrived at the school, I parked in front of the school Celaena gave me a hug and climbed out of the SUV, I started the engine and drove away on the way home I stopped at Starbucks and bought Luna breakfast. When I arrived home, I parked in front of the house and killed the engine I grabbed the bag and Luna's coffee I climbed out of the SUV and walked up to the house I opened the storm door and unlocked the inside door and walked inside the house. I closed the inside door behind me and locked it I walked into the kitchen and sat Luna's breakfast on the table I left the kitchen and walked back into the foyer I took off my leather jacket and hung it up I walked upstairs to mine and Luna's room I heard Wasp coming from our room I walked into the room Luna looked at me and smiled. 

"Hi babe." Luna said. 

"Hi my graveyard baby." I replied. 

I walked over to the bed and sat down on the bed I leaned over and kissed her she snuggled up beside me I brushed the back of my finger against her cheek causing her to blush. 

"I brought you home breakfast from Starbucks because I wasn't sure what time you were going to wake up." 

"Thank you, babe." 

I kissed her once more and walked back downstairs I walked into the kitchen I got another cup of coffee and sat down at the table Luna came into the kitchen and joined me at the table she leaned over and kissed me. 

"I love you Chrissy Poo." Luna said. 

"I love you too, Luna-belle." I replied. 

I passed Luna her breakfast I pulled out my phone and checked my social media accounts while Luna was eating, I was looking through the photos on my phone Luna took my phone and looked at the photo that I was looking at she looked at me and smiled. My cellphone was ringing Luna passed me back my phone I answered the phone. 

"Hello?" 

"Dad can you and mom come get me." 

"What's wrong?" I asked concerned. 

"The principle is sending me home because I told the judges for the talent show off because they won't let me perform the song by Marilyn Manson but I'm not the only one that is getting sent home Kevin and Mandy are both getting sent home along with me." Celaena explained. 

"Stay there and when your mother is finished eating her breakfast, we will be there to get you." 

I hung up the phone and just shook my head Luna looked at me and giggled I stuck my tongue out at her. 

"Is Celaena in trouble?" Luna asked. 

"No, she's not in trouble it seems our daughter's school is sending her, Kevin, and Mandy home for what they chose to do for the talent show." I explained. 

"Let's go get Celaena." 

Luna and I left the kitchen and walked into the foyer we put on our leather jackets and left the house Luna and I walked down to the SUV, we climbed into the SUV, I put the key in the ignition and started the engine I turned on the heater and drove away. When we arrived at the school I parked in front of the school and killed the engine Luna and I spotted Celaena, Kevin, and another girl sitting with them and she seemed really upset we climbed out of the SUV and walked over to them. 

"Mom, dad this is my best friend, Mandy." Celaena said. 

"Why is Mandy crying?" I asked worried. 

"Mandy's father just left here before you and mom came and he told Mandy that she is no longer welcomed in his home so now Mandy has nowhere else to go." 

"Celaena, Mandy is coming home with us she's welcomed in our home." 

"Kevin is Angelo on his way?" Luna asked. 

"Yes, my dad told me to wait for him outside." Kevin said. 

I saw Angelo's car pull up he got out of the car and walked over to us Angelo hugged Luna and Celaena. 

"Chris, it seems our kids are being treated just like us." 

"So, it would seem but how can we get the kids back in the talent show?" 

"Leave that to me and I'll call you later on." Angelo said. 

Luna, Celaena, Mandy and I climbed into the SUV, I put the key in the ignition and started the engine I turned the heat back on and drove away on the way home I drove to Mandy's fathers church so she could get all of her belongings. When we arrived home, I parked in front of the house and killed the engine I handed Luna my keys Celaena and I helped Mandy carry her belongings up to the house Celaena and I helped Mandy move her belongings into the guest room. I walked back downstairs I took off my jacket and hung it up I walked into the living room and joined Luna on the couch she laid her head on my shoulder I wrapped my arm around her she laid her head on my chest. 

"Do you think Angelo can get the kids back in the talent show?" 

"I believe he can my dear." 

I kissed Luna's forehead and stroked her hair she gazed up at me and blushed I grabbed my Tampa Bay Lightning throw blanket off the back of the couch and covered us up Luna draped her arm across me Celaena and Mandy came into the living room and sat down on the love seat.

"Mom, dad my friend has something that she would like to say." Celaena said. 

"Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Cerulli, for taking me in." Mandy said nervously. 

"You're more than welcome Mandy." 

Celaena and Mandy left the living room Luna kissed me and left the living room I followed her into the kitchen she looked at me and smiled. 

"Would you like to help me with dinner?" Luna asked. 

"I'll help you with dinner." I replied. 

I helped Luna with dinner Celaena and Mandy came into the kitchen Celaena was talking on the phone when she got off the phone, she looked at Luna and I with a smile on her face. 

"Uncle Angelo got us back in the talent show he lied to our principle and said that we were singing a pop song." 

"Dad I decided not to sing "The Nobodies" I decided to sing "Hourglass" for the talent show." 

I fed Binx and Jack while the girls set the table for dinner, I turned on the coffee pot after dinner I helped Luna with the dishes I washed while she dried, I helped her put the dishes away I scooped Luna up in my arms and carried her upstairs to our room and carried her into the bathroom. When we came out of the bathroom Luna and I climbed into bed she snuggled up beside me I wrapped my arm around Luna and turned off the lamp Luna laid her head on my chest. 

"Babe can you sing "Wasp" to me?" Luna asked. 

"Of course, my love." I said. 

I stroked Luna's hair and softly sang "Wasp" to her Luna drifted off to sleep I kissed her forehead and fell asleep.
