Chapter 34

{Chris's POV} 

I was driving Celaena to school we were listening to my favorite band The Smiths and it is one of Celaena's favorite bands as well I introduced her to my favorite bands when she was a little girl. 

"Dad can I ask you something?" 

"Of course." 

"Would you get angry if I told you that I would like to start a band?" Celaena asked. 

"I'm not angry because I had a feeling that you might want to follow in my footsteps and start a band because you want to be like me." I said.

When we arrived at the school I parked in front of the school and killed the engine I looked over at Celaena and she was looking out the passenger side window she looked worried about Jason. 

"Dad how did you know that you were in love with mom?" 

"I knew I was in love with your mother when we were teenagers your mother and I started to develop feelings for each other your mother was my prom date I was going to ask her to become my girlfriend but I was too nervous to ask her and chickened out. If it weren't for your uncles and aunts to help me and your mother get together a few years back I don't think we would have ever gotten together." 

"I'm in love with Jason but his parents would never accept a freak show like me." Celaena said. 

"Celaena you are not a freak show and I know how you feel about someone not accepting me for who I am." I replied. 

"Who didn't accept you?" 

"Your grandmother never liked me but I never did anything bad to her I always showed her respect your grandmother really didn't like me when I dressed as Jesus for a music video." 

"I saw the music video and thought it was amazing." She replied. 

"If Jason accepts you for who you are than that's all that matters and if you happen to see new bruises on him your mother and I want you to text either one of us at lunch and let us know. Don't forget to tell Jason that if he doesn't feel safe to come to our house." 

"I will tell him I promise." 

Celaena gave me a hug and climbed out of the SUV, I started the engine and drove home when I arrived home I parked in front of the house and killed the engine I climbed out of the SUV and walked up to the house. I unlocked the inside door and walked inside the house I closed the door behind me and locked it I took off my leather jacket and hung it up I walked upstairs and walked into mine and Luna's room she was still sound asleep. I walked downstairs and walked down into the basement and started the washing machine I walked back up the basement steps and closed the door behind me. 

"Chris where are you?" Luna called. 

"I'm in the kitchen." I said. 

Luna came into the kitchen and walked over to me I wrapped my arms around her waist and kissed her she looked at me and blushed Luna wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me. 

"I love you." 

"I love you, too." 

"Baby it seems our little girl is in love." I replied with a smile.

"I had a feeling she was in love and I know she's worried sick about Jason." Luna said. 

I leaned down and kissed Luna she smiled against my lips I playfully bite her bottom lip we gazed into each other's eyes I scooped her up in my arms and sat her on the counter. 

"Babe what would you like for breakfast?" 

"I was thinking about having you." 

"Babe how many times do I have to tell you that you can't eat me." Luna giggled.
