47. Who Am I?

Just when I allowed myself to be set-up with some random girl na friend ni Brix, a childhood friend who came back from Aussie to attend the wedding tomorrow, I see Clementine in the same bar, drinking herself to stupor.

I wasn't supposed to talk to her, much less approach her. Any person with a sane mind wouldn't because there is a high risk of getting hurt even more. But maybe I'm still insane. And as a result, mas lalo akong naguluhan sa kung ano talaga kami.

...Na-miss kita, Cyann...

...Breaking your heart was worse...

Those were her words that had me questioning everything again. And damn it, I wouldn't be lying if I say it somehow had me hoping that I read everything wrong. Bakit nga ba siya naglasing? And why did Signo--her boyfriend--allow her to get drunk? Alone? Anong klaseng boyfriend 'yon? Does that mean, she didn't choose him afterall?

Hawak pa rin ni Clementine 'yung kamay ko while she's resting her head on the counter while I was thinking about this.

"Pa'no ko ngayon iuuwi si Ate?" I heard Alice complain. I couldn't even remember why and how she started talking to Brix.

Maybe I was still spacing out that's why Brix took it upon himself to carry Clementine and I immediately came to my senses. I wanted to carry her myself, but my knees have been weakened by her words. Nawalan ako bigla ng lakas. I just gave Alice the key to my car while I took the chance to say goodbye to Kam...Kate...Kat...Karen--I forgot what her name was. Hindi ko na hinintay 'yung sagot niya. I just made the beeline to the exit and to the parking lot.

I didn't pay much attention to what's doing at the backseat. I perfectly know that Brix Salvatiera is a true gentleman. He's the caring type especially around women. Kaya hindi ko na binigyan ng malisya na sa lap niya nakahilig 'yung ulo ni Lem on our way back to the hotel.

Now, I'm watching him gingerly place Clementine on the bed. Okay na sana. But then she begins mumbling senseless things.

"Graduate muna tayo bago sex," she says as she stares up at Brix with glazed eyes.

I can understand why Brix stiffened upon hearing her. What I couldn't understand is the fact that she is insinuating this to a person she just met. That's hardly the image that I had of her and unconsciously, I ball my hands into fists.

"A-Ahhh... Ate Lem, gusto mo bang magbihis?" Alice asks her in an attempt to knock sense into her.

But she is just on a roll and I want to blame the fucking Jagermeister test tubes she downed earlier. "Graduate muna tayo, tapos hanap ng trabaho... ipon... tapos kasal... tapos ayon... pwedeng-pwede na, hehe. In that order ha? 'Di pwedeng pagbali-baliktarin," she slowly mumbles and it confuses me more while my friend just goes with the flow to help her settle on the bed once and for all.

Ang alam ko, Nate already graduated from college. Brix did too. So who is she telling this to? Me? But I'm not the one holding her right now. Unless--

My confusion is obliterated and turns into rage when I see them kiss. I don't fuckin' care who initiated it, my vision just started to paint everything in red. Just the mere thought that someone else had kissed Clementine is enough to make me go berserk. What more if I see it with my own eyes?!
