I was way more worried about Brendon than I expected to.

Especially when it was 4 am and he wasn't inside the dorm.

That was a good reason to panic. He didn't have a cane with him either, they were all still on his bed.

I raced out of the door to find him.

It wasn't until I got downstairs that I found him. Still dressed in his pyjamas, he was sitting at the grand piano in the foyer of the building, playing one of the most haunting melodies i'd ever heard. He was crying, too, banging the keys a little harder every time he let out another sob.

Some other people came to see what the noise was.

"Bren?" I whispered hesitantly, taking a step towards him.

He didn't seem to notice until my hand was on his shoulder.

He almost fell off the stool in alarm.

"Sorry, sorry," I whispered.

He shrugged my hand off.

"J-Just let me h-have my m-moment." He whispered tearfully, resuming his song.

I just decided to stand and listen.

He didn't have any sheet music, nor was this anything I'd heard before, and I'd heard a lot of classical music. He was playing straight from the heart.

That was probably why it was so hard-hitting.

Quite a few people around were tearing up, including Brendon himself.

I was surprised that no one seemed annoyed by it.

When he finished, he slammed his head angrily against the keys and sobbed, before getting up, going back to the elevator, and back to the dorm. All without a word.

I don't think he realised I followed him back.

He just went straight to bed once he got back, and acted like nothing had happened.

I tried to do the same.
