***** Dallon's Point of View *****
Brendon was not very happy when Saturday rolled around.
In fact, he was rather grumpy and miserable and wouldn't talk to me.
He wouldn't even talk to his mother on the car ride to the specialist. I'd seen Brendon grumpy, but this was another level.
I didn't even know why he was so bothered.
When we got to the specialist, which was a two-hour drive out of town, he tried to refuse to get out of the car.
His Mom pretty much dragged him out.
"I hate this." He growled in the waiting room.
"I know."
"Why do I even have to come so much?! It's not like they don't tell me anything that I don't already know!"
"Because something could change."
He scowled.
"Brendon Urie? Can you please come in?"
We all stood up. Brendon shook his mother off his arm and tried to walk in on his own, but ended up walking into the wall.
That didn't help his mood. He just went into the office after finding the doorway and sat down.
"So, how are you today Brendon?" The doctor asked.
"Bad."
"Why's that?"
"Cause I have to be here."
The doctor chuckled it off. "Let's try and be quick today then. Take your glasses off for me?"
He pulled his glasses off and winced.
The doctor dimmed the lighting of the room slightly. "Now, I know you dislike this bit, but I have to check the responsiveness of your pupils, okay?"
"Just get it over with."
He had this little flashlight that was super bright, and Brendon seemed to be in so much pain when he just pointed it directly at his eyeball.
He was letting out small whimpers and gripping onto the seat of the chair.
"Hmm..." The doctor mumbled, turning to his computer and typing something up.
Brendon rubbed his eyes.
"Everything okay?" Grace asked, rubbing Brendon's shoulder.
"Yeah, just a second."
Brendon pushed his glasses back on and slumped in his chair.
"So how blind am I still?" He asked.
"We've only just started, Brendon. We still have to test everything else."
"Nothing's changed. Test done."
"Well, our first test has already shown some change, so let's continue on."
The next one seemed a lot more painful, and the doctor had him look at the light as it slowly became more bright and tell him when it started to hurt.
There was one point where Brendon just cried out and covered his eyes.
I was beginning to understand his hate for this.
"No more." He whispered.
"Let's just move onto the next test." The doctor murmured.
Brendon frowned.
I sat in the room with him until it was over, wincing every time he shrieked or cried or begged for it to stop.
