I slept in the next morning, assuming that Venn would be on this theme park trip. However, when I woke up, he was sitting in the common room.
"Hey Bren."
"Hey..." I sat down beside him. "I thought you were going out today."
"They wouldn't let me go because of this stupid tank." He grumbled. "And they wouldn't let me ditch it either."
"That sucks."
"Yep." He mumbled disheartedly.
"It's alright."
"Dr Wayne said I could go when I'm better." He mumbled. "Why did I have to be so stupid?!"
"I don't know..."
He sighed again.
I didn't know what to say."
"Do you wanna go for a walk?" He asked eventually.
"Sure."
He took my hand and we headed for the door.
"Shouldn't we take a helper or something?" I asked.
"No." He responed flatly.
"Okay..."
He pulled me out of the door and I followed him, assuming he'd done this before.
The walk lasted much longer than I expected, truthfully. I had no clue where we were.
I was getting a feeling that we weren't in the home anymore. Maybe in the yard space?
"Venn, where are we?" I asked nervously.
"We're just walking, don't worry about silly stuff like that."
"How are we supposed to find our way back?!" I panicked.
"We will. Don't you trust me?"
"Alright..." I murmured uncertainly.
"Just walk. You don't have to do anything else."
"Okay..."
He continued leading me.
After about half an hour, he stopped. "We're lost."
"Great."
"Did you bring your phone?"
"Nope."
"Damn."
"What do we do?"
"That is a good question. I say we find a bench and ask someone to help us?"
"Okay..."
We walked until we found somewhere to sit, and just kinda sat together in the hope that someone would help us.
The silence was awkward.
"Brendon!?" a slightly familiar voice said rather loudly.
It took me a minute, but I got there. "Mason? Is that you?"
"Yeah, yeah it is. What are you doing?"
"We went for a walk and got lost." I explained awkwardly.
"Oh...okay...look, I'll help."
I pulled Venn up. "Thank you so much. Mason, this is Venn, Venn this is my brother Mason."
"It's nice to meet you." Mason said. "Where are you trying to go?"
"Back to the care home, I guess." I murmured. "I'm not exactly sure where that is though."
"Okay..."
