It was pretty clear that Brendon knew nothing about tuxedos.
We'd gone to the usual family tailor in the city. They already had my measurements on file, and I just picked some fabric.
Brendon was very uncomfortable during the measuring process.
"They're measuring a lot of things. Is that bad?" He asked.
"Well, I've been told to stand here like this, while this stranger touches me and I can't see what they're doing!"
"It's not scary or anything."
"Easy for you to say." He mumbled.
"Just don't stress."
He mumbled something inaudible and remained silent until the measurements were taken.
"What colour do you want? What fabric?"
"You're seriously gonna ask the blind guy that?"
"It's your choice."
"Call Mom. Mom always picks those things for me." He grabbed his cane and headed for the seat in the corner.
I sighed and called his Mom.
"Hey Grace." I greeted.
"Oh, hello Dallon. How are you?"
"I'm good. Uh, so Brendon's just getting fitted for a tuxedo, and he wants you to choose the colour and fabric."
"A tuxedo?! What? Why?"
"He didn't tell you?"
"No? What's going on?"
"He's playing at the Weekes family ball."
She squealed. "Oh that's exciting! Put him on!"
I handed Brendon the phone.
He didn't seem happy to talk to his mother about the Ball.
I thought he'd be more excited.
In the end, he just handed me the phone back. "Mom said get a navy blue one that's kinda soft but still nice."
I nodded, as well as the tailor, before we both chuckled.
"Yes, that's fine." The tailor stated.
"And then do I need a shirt and tie too? I don't know much about this. What about a belt? Do I need a belt? I don't know.'
"Everything will be sorted."
"Alright..."
"Thank you for your time, Mr Urie."
"No problems..."
I took Brendon to the mall to pass time while we waited for our suits.
He didn't say much. Just stayed glued to my side.
"You wanna get some food?"
"Sure?"
I led him to the foodcourt. "What do you feel like?"
"Something salty."
"Hmm..." I just took him to a fast food place and got him a burger.
He didn't seem to care.
"Hey Bren?"
"Yeah?" He murmured through a mouthful of food. He swallowed it down.
"Where's Lucky?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean your dog isn't with us?"
"He came with us, right?"
