There was this huge music recital of sorts, and everyone in the class was invited except for the best player, Brendon.

He was not very happy about it. But then again, Brendon wasn't ever happy about anything.

"Sorry Mr Urie, but with the lights on stage, you'd think we were taking advantage of you."

Brendon was seething with anger. "I wear the glasses for a reason."

"Well, we don't have enough time for you anyway."

Brendon stormed away from him angrily and sat back down at his piano.

It was out of tune, and unnaturally so.

"Sorry Mr Urie. The piano is broken."

I'd never seen him angrier than this.

For a blind guy, he was really accurate with his punches.

I felt bad for the poor pole.

Brendon's hands weren't in a great condition either. He stomped out of the room.

I led him away. "Calm down. Dad won't allow this. Relax."

"It's not fair!"

"I know. It's discrimination. Don't worry, I'll sort it out."

He was still angry, but he collapsed into tears.

I gently pulled him into a hug. "Shhhh."

"I-I wanna talk to your Dad."

"We will. We just gotta go back to class until it's over."

He shook his head. "I'm not going back to that asshole."

"Just... come on. I don't want you to get expelled."

He grunted at me.

I took his arm and led him back. He sat next to the door, tapping out a melody on the desk. He didn't smile. Just sat in silence, and pretended to play until the class was over.

"I n-need piano time." He whispered when he saw me.

"Don't you want to see Dad?" I asked.

"Piano time first..."

"Alright..." I murmured, taking his arm and trying to remember where the closest piano was. "Let's go."

The only one I could find was the one that was in the theatre. Brendon sat down on the stool on the stage and took a deep breath, before starting to play. This song wasn't one I'd heard before, but it was even darker and more haunting than that time he was playing at 4am. It didn't take long for the tears to start, but Brendon just continued playing, filling the entire theatre with the haunting melody.

I didn't ask him if he was okay. I already knew the answer. I just sat quietly and let him get his frustrations out.

I wasn't until he started smacking his head against the top of the piano that I called his mother and got her to speak to him.

But even that didn't stop him now. He just kept pounding at the keys, his song getting louder and louder. There were a few people who heard the noise from outside and came in to see what was going on.

Someone even got up on the lights and put a spotlight on him. I was getting more and more concerned. Couldn't they see he was having a moment?"

He tried to hum along to his tune, but just ended up breaking out in more sobs.

I really didn't want to just leave him, but there wasn't much I could do.

He would just get mad at me.
