"Are you excited?" I asked Elle. "You're gonna get to go on a helicopter!"

She just whimpered.

I let out a sigh.

They were moving her to the children's hospital, and they decided helicopter would be the best way. She was just hurting all over.

She clung to me all the way to the helicopter pad on the roof.

"It'll be alright Elle. I promise."

"I-It just hurts, D-Dally."

"I know, I know."

She started crying and I had to carry her the rest of the way.

I felt absolutely awful.

Elle did too.

"You're gonna be alright. You know how I know?"

"How?"

"Cause big brothers never lie."

"You lied when you said you didn't eat my halloween candy!"

"That was Dad and you know it."

She poked her tongue out before groaning in pain again.

"You're alright Elle."

We got on the helicopter and headed up in the air.

"T-this feels weird." She murmured.

"We're almost there Elle."

"Good."

I pressed a kiss to her forehead.

"I love you Dally."

"I love you too."

She didn't seem to enjoy the helicopter ride much. Between the pain and the fact that she hated things like planes, she wasn't enjoying herself.

She was very relieved when it was over.

They took her in on a stretcher, and I stayed close by her.

She fell asleep on the way.

They got her in a room and laid in a bed. I went to a trip to the gift store.

I ended up getting her a tonne of balloons and a stuffed toy.

I tucked the stuffed toy under her arm and tied the balloons to one of the legs of the bedside table.

Mom hugged me.

"She doesn't deserve this." I started crying.

Nobody said anything.

When she started to stir, I wiped my eyes.

"H-Hey Ellie..."

"Hey Dally."

"I got you some balloons..."

"Thanks."

"Are you feeling better?"

"It's still hurts, but I'm alright."

"Okay, good."

She nodded.

I hugged her.

She let out a tiny giggle.

That made me smile.

"Your hairs messy Dally!"

"That's from the helicopter."

"Is my hair messy?" She asked.

"Nope."

"Oh well. I like messy Dally hair."

I chuckled.
