*****Dallon's Point Of View****
"Are you sure that's everything?" I asked Brendon.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure."
I closed the trunk of the car and smiled. "Well, we're all packed and ready to go then."
"Okay, cool." He nodded. "Are we good to go then?"
"Let's just go see your Mom."
"Fine."
Grace was tearing up when we had to leave.
"It's not that big of a deal, Mom. You can still contact me, and whatever."
"I know, but still!"
Brendon sighed. "I'll miss you, Mom."
"I'll miss you too angel. Stay safe."
"I will, I promise."
"Call every day!"
"I will."
"Promise?"
"I promise."
"Good."
"I love you, Mom."
"I love you too Bren."
Brendon smiled slightly
"Stay safe."
"I will."
We headed out to the car. Grace stood on the driveway and waved us goodbye as we left the house.
"And the road trip begins..."
Brendon nodded and rested his head back. "You went to the mechanic, didn't you?"
"Yeah, I did."
He half-smiled. "It sounds better. The engine, that is."
"Good to know."
"It's a lot smoother now, you know?"
"If you say so."
He nodded.
"I bought a bunch of snacks and stuff, too." I murmured.
"Cool."
"Yeah."
"Kara gave me a bunch of CD's to play."
"Awesome."
He nodded.
"Do you want one put on?"
"Sure." He pulled one out of his bag and felt around on the dash for the CD slot.
"Do you want me to do it?"
"That's probably for the best." He murmured, handing the case to me.
I took the CD out and pushed it into the CD slot.
It turns out Kara had given us screamo music. Brendon didn't seem to mind.
I didn't say anything about it.
When the CD finished, Brendon stretched his legs uncomfortably. "When are we gonna stop?"
"In...uh...about 20 minutes."
He groaned.
"I'm sorry."
"It's kinda cramped in here."
"I know."
"Which is the air-con button?"
"The air-con is still broken."
