My head was so fuzzy when I woke up. It didn't feel right at all.
                              I let out a groan.
"Hey Bren." I heard Dallon say softly.
                              "D-Dal?"
                              "Yeah, I'm here."
                              "W-What happened?"
                              "There was just an accident."
                              "What?"
                              "Don't worry."
                              "Where's Lucky?"
                              "At your Moms house."
                              "Where am I?"
                              "In a doctors office."
                              "Am I hurt?"
                              "Yeah."
                              "Oh."
                              He didn't say anything else.
I started wiggling all my limbs to see which ones hurt.
They didn't seem to, but when I moved my head, my neck hurt so much.
                              "A-Ah..."
                              "Don't move."
                              "Okay..."
Someone came in, and started moving my head. I yelped in pain.
                              "P-Please stop!"
"Alright, there's definitely a significant injury in the neck."
                              "Obviously!" Dallon snapped.
                              "Please calm down."
                              "Just, don't hurt him."
                              "I'm not trying to."
                              "That doesn't mean you aren't."
"Well I'm sorry. I'm going to get a neck brace, but you're going to have to go to the actual hospital."
                              I groaned.
She came back and put a neck brace on me.
                              I just cried in pain.
                              Dallon took my hand.
It still hurt when she was done.
                              "I-It hurts so much Dal..."
                              "I know, I know."
"Can we just cut it off?"
                              "No."
                              I sighed.
                              "Alright, let's head toe hospital."
                              "I d-don't know if I can stand."
"What if we get an ambulance?"
I winced at the thought of it.
                              "I'll call one."
I just let him do whatever. I was in too much pain to care.
When they arrived, the paramedics lifted me into a stretcher. I was just sobbing, which only made the pain worse.
Dallon stayed right beside me and held my hand.
"I-I don't like this Dally. Not at all."
"I know Bren. Don't worry, we'll be at the hospital soon."
                              "Promise?"
                              "I promise."
                              "Talking hurts."
"Then just be quiet. It's all good."
                              I didn't respond.
They poked a needle into me. I was hoping it was painkillers.
It ended up just knocking me out again.
                              ----------------------------------
I was having difficulties waking up. I felt awake, but I couldn't actually move anything.
It was awful, and I was scared. I hated this feeling.
                              "Dally?" I whispered.
                              There was nothing.
                              I couldn't handle this again.
                              I just tried to scream.
I felt a hand on my arm.
I wanted to grab the hand.
I just couldn't. And that was terrifying.
I tried desperately to flail about, to show my panic
"It's okay Bren, calm down." Dallon whispered.
                              "Please help!"
"I will, just, you gotta calm down."
                              "I-I can't!"
                              "Take a deep breath."
                              I followed his direction.
                              "Okay, good."
                              "I-I don't like this Dally."
"I know Bren. The doctors are doing all they can."
                              "B-but nothing is happening!"
                              "It will, don't worry."
"Dally!" I cried. "F-fix it!"
"I'm sorry Bren, just calm down, you'll make it worse by stressing."
                              "I can't stop stressing!"
                              He sighed.
                              "I-I can't Dally..." I whimpered.
                              "You can Bren, I promise."
                              "J-just...don't leave."
                              "I won't, I promise."
                              "Thanks."
I heard another persone enter the room.
                              "W-who's that?"
                              "I'm just a doctor."
                              "A-are you gonna fix this?"
                              "Short answer, yes."
                              "O-okay."
                              I then heard him leave.
                              I whimpered.
Dallon just rubbed the back of my palm.
                              "You're okay, Bren."
                              "I-I'm not. I don't feel right."
"I know. But you'll feel better soon."
                              "I hope so...."
Eventually, the paralysis did start wearing off. After about an hour, I could move again, which was relieving.
It wasn't great that I was in hospital, but I was glad to be a bit better.
"When can I go home Dal?"
"I don't know. We're gonna have to postpone our road trip though."
                              I groaned.
                              "It'll be alright though."
"Will we be late for class and miss the first few days?"
                              "We might."
I groaned for a second time.
                              "It'll be fine."
                              "No, it won't!"
                              "It will. They'll understand."
                              I grunted.
                              Dallon sighed.
                              "I wanna go home."
                              "I know Bren."
                              "Please?"
                              "It's not my choice."
                              I just went silent.
                              "It'll be fine."
                              "Maybe..."
                              "It will be."
