When the exams were done, and the assignments all finished and submittted, the semester finally had come to an end. Now, it was time for Christmas.
I had been invited to stay at Brendon's Mom's place for the holiday season, which was nice, I guess. Although it did mean that I got to spend a lot more time with Brendon's infamous siblings, nieces and nephews.
Not even Brendon was excited about that. In fact, he didn't want to go.
Unfortunately, it was either that or stay at my place, which seemed like a worse option due to the stairs. So at the Urie house we stayed.
Brendon's nieces and nephews liked to make themselves known. It was like they were everywhere.
Brendon mostly stayed in his room. He was too scared of walking into them.
I was in his room with him.
"You've got a big family." I chuckled.
He nodded. "I hate it."
I frowned, but shook it off. "They're all so nice."
"Not really."
"The kids are. They're always hugging me and giving me chocolate and it's great."
He frowned.
I ended up kissing his cheek. "Do you wanna go out for a while? We can go and do some Christmas shopping."
"Fine."
It would've been better if the children didn't demand to come with us.
When they did, he groaned.
"Me and Brendon are just going out for a while." I told them. "Just us."
"But we wanna come!"
"Nope. We're gonna go get some Christmas presents, and if you come, then we can't get you any at all. Do you want Christmas presents from us?"
"Yeah! But we can pick them out!"
"Well, it's gotta be a surprise. So you guys have to stay here if you want them."
"Fine."
I hurried Brendon out to the car before the kids changed their mind.
Brendon breathed a sigh of relief.
"Who do you have to get presents for?" I asked.
"Everyone?"
I pulled my phone out. "Let's make a list."
He just groaned.
"So there's Grace, Boyd, your siblings, your nieces, your nephews, my parents, Elle, um.... David... anyone else?"
He shrugged.
I frowned. "Come on, think."
"I don't know?"
I added Brendon's name to the list.
"What if we get Lucky treats or something?"
"Good idea."
He smiled slightly.
"Let's go to the pet shop."
"Okay."
I took his arm and we headed to the pet shop
It was a nice pet shop too. There were lots of pets there. I just led Brendon to the dog section.
"It smells funny in here."
"There's a lot of animals. That's why it smells weird."
"Right..."
