Long story short, Grace was not happy about going, but considering that my tickets were non-refundable, she begrudingly had to come.
I could tell Brendon was excited, but he was trying to hide it.
"Have you ever flown before?" I asked.
He shook his head.
I giggled. "This is extra exciting then. I still can't belive the airline is letting us take Lucky onboard."
"They're really nice."
Grace muttered something.
"What was that?" Brendon asked.
"We're not visiting your father." She told him crossly. "I don't care about him."
"What if I do?" Brendon asked.
"He doesn't care enough to come and visit his own son, so I don't think you owe him the pleasure."
"But I want to see him, well, yeah..."
"No, Brendon." She stated, folding her arms.
Brendon just frowned.
I broke up the tension. "Let's go grab some food before the flight, hey?"
Brendon shook his head.
We went and got some drinks instead. Eventually, we were called for boarding. We were given first priority due to Brendon and Lucky.
Brendon was silent.
"Okay Bren, you're gonna have the window seat, so there's 3 seats and you'll kinda have to duck down and go over 2 seats to get to yours."
"Sounds difficult..."
We ended up giving Lucky the window, Brendon in the middle and I took the aisle, while Grace was in the row behind us.
Brendon started getting nervous when the plane was moving.
I squeezed his hand. "Don't worry. It's okay."
"Okay..."
When we got up in the air, Brendon just read one of his braille books to pass the time.
I was glad he was occupied.
It wasn't that long of a flight, and soon enough, we reached New York.
Getting off the plane was fine, but once we were in the busy airport, Brendon latched onto my arm.
Grace seemed slightly annoyed by this.
I couldn't work out why.
Brendon didn't notice and just held me tightly as we collected our bags.
We made our way through the airport until we found the taxi pick up area.
Brendon relaxed a small amount.
I told the driver where we had to go.
He nodded and drove us to the hotel. We had two seperate rooms, one with two beds and another with one.
"Me and Brendon will take the double." Grace stated loudly.
I nodded. "Okay, cool."
"I w-wanna stay with Dallon, Mom." Brendon whispered, so quietly it was barely audible.
"Well you're not."
He just nodded meekly and sat down on his bed.
Everyone organised thwit stuff, with Grace doing most of Brendon's.
