College was hard enough, between juggling a social life and classes, but throw a legally blind boy into college and laugh at him.

Because that's all people seemed to do to me.

Even my roommate, the one who was actually supposed to be taking care of me, was doing the shittiest job known to man. Not only did he continually walk me into walls, he conveniently forgot me at classes and left me stranded with no way of knowing where the hell I was.

And that was where I was now. I'd literally been at college for 2 days, and I knew that this was going to be the absolute worst place known to man. Ryan had left already, and now I was just stuck here, sitting through a class that I actually wasn't in because I didn't know where the door to this room was.

The kid next to me kept touching my cane, and that was annoying as well. I would've slapped him if I knew where his hand was.

I was thankful that at the end of the class, some other kid walked up to me. "A-Are you okay? C-Class has been over for half a-an hour..."

"Oh, my, um, I've been abandoned..." I chuckled awkwardly to hide the silence. "My roommate was supposed to take me back to my dorm after my class, which actually was the one before this one, but he kinda forgot about me and I'm not really sure where the door is... so I guess I'm just waiting for him to come back..."

"O-Oh..." The kid took a nervous deep breath. "I c-can take you to your next place if you want. I'm not doing anything now."

"Oh, awesome. Do you know where Dorm 353B is?"

There was a moment of silence, and then he started apologizing. "I-I was n-nodding, but y-you... uh..."

I just forced a smile, having been forced into these situations many times before. "It's fine. Thank you so much for taking me though, otherwise, I'd just have been left here."

"I-I'm Dallon." He reached out for my hand, but I pulled away, before adjusting it to the usual position of linking arms.

"Brendon," I answered as he hesitantly reached out for my arm. "Thanks for this."

"Oh, i-it's no problem." He stuttered, leading me out of the room.

He was right, he did know where my dorm was. And I was very thankful that he made up for all the stuff that Ryan had forgotten to do, like show me where the bathrooms were, and let me poke around the dorm with my cane so I got a sense of where everything was. He even picked up all of Ryan's stuff so I could get around easier.

"Thanks, Dal." I smiled. "You've really helped me out."

"I-its alright." He whispered.

After finding the bed, I sat down and put my cane beside me, before staring at the wall.

I was hoping he would say something else, since he was nice, and I hadn't talked to many people since I arrived.

I think they were scared of the cane.

It could also be the fact that I apparently always looked like a mess, which could have to do with the fact that Mom wasn't there to make me look presentable.

I really didn't care.

My wardrobe pretty much just consisted of jeans, plain t-shirts, and two hoodies. It made everything a hell of a lot easier.

"S-so..." Dallon stammered. "W-what things do you like?"

"I just like walking around outside, it's quite nice, and listening to music too," I answered. "Reading can be cool sometimes."
