Jesy's POV

Today is Monday, and the girls are going back to school. I woke up early to make packed lunches. I had laid the girls uniform out on the floor of their bedroom and cleaned their black patent school shoes that were next to the door. I was just as nervous as they were, I think, I felt a bit like a farmer sending my little pigs to a slaughter house or something. It was awful.

The school started at 8.30am, so I woke the girls up at 7. I had already been up for an hour was showered and dressed ready for the girls. Eloise had slept in my bed again, last night and Olivia and woken up at about midnight crying. Over the past few days she was only having one nightmare a night, instead of the usual two or three. Leigh-Anne was coming round for quarter to eight to help me take the girls to school, I expected tears and wanted a bit of backup.

Me: "Wakey, wakey, princess," I said shaking Eloise gently. She rolled back over on to her side, ignoring me. "Come on, up," I said lifting her up, trying to stand her up. She moaned, but stood up sitting in the living room while I went to wake her sister up.

Me: "Cereal or toast for breakfast girls?" I asked, both girls were sat at the kitchen table, still in their pyjamas with messy, unbrushed hair and tired eyes.

Eloise: "Nothin'" she moaned, looking away from me.

Me: "Ellie, you have to have something, thats not negotiable, cereal or toast?" I asked firmly.

Eloise: "Cereal, please," she sighed, crossing her arms. Thankfully she ate the bowl of cornflakes without complaining, and followed me into their bedroom where I helped dress them in the red gingham dresses and red blazer.

Olivia: "Oww, you're pulling," she complained as I brushed through her hair at my dressing table.

Me: "Sit still then," I said frustratedly.

The doorbell rang at that moment, and Olivia ran to answer it.

Olivia: "Aunty Leigh, can you do my hair, Jess is pulling," she complained before Leigh-Anne had even stepped in to the front door.

Leigh-Anne: "Yes, of course, find me a brush and a bobble," she said. Leigh fixed both girls hair in identical french braids and pushed their school's straw boaters on top.

Eloise: "Are you going to stay with me," she asked, quietly desperation in her voice, as I strapped the velcro across her shoes. She had been clingy all morning, not wanting to leave my side.

Me: "No, sweet girl, I'm going to drop you off with your teacher and then pick you back up at 3," I said, standing her up from the bottom of stairs.

Eloise: "But, I don't want you to go," she said, tears forming in her eyes.

Me: "You'll be fine, you're going to have such fun, angel," I reassured.

Eloise: "No, please," she begged, tears now rolling down her cheeks and she climbed on to my lap. I rubbed her back gently, wiping her tears from her face.

Me: "Right, come on guys, lets get in the car," I said. It was almost 8 O'Clock and I had a feeling that the girls may not be particularly easy to get into the classrooms, so wanted as much time as I could.

Olivia: "I don't really want too, Jess, can we not go next week instead?" she asked nervously, clinging on to Leigh-Anne's hand as I locked the house up.

Me: "No, we're going to go today and next week and the week after, and have loads of fun at school and you can tell me all about it when I pick you up at 3, okay?" I said, unlocking the car. "Eloise, don't kick, that's not nice," I said, she was fighting me as I tried to strap her in, kicking out arching her back so I couldn't get her in. "Uh-stop it." I said firmly, raising my eyebrows, giving her my best 'Mom' look.
