Jesy's POV

Today is Eloise's sixth birthday morning, she's not had her birthday party yet as that is next week. I stayed up late last night getting everything ready, there were balloons, banners and her presents in the living room and the kitchen was ready to cook whatever Eloise came up with as her desired birthday breakfast. I knew that decorating the house was something my parents had always done for their birthdays and I wanted to make sure that they got the same.

I knew it would be woken up early but when Eloise excitedly jumped into my bedroom at 5.45am.

Me: "Eloise, its way too early, come here and have a sleep,"

Eloise: "But it's my birthday! I'm six!"

Me: "I know but right now it's still nighttime and you need to shut your eyes and try and get some more sleep," I never let her sleep in my bed after I had finally got her to sleep in her own, in case we backtracked and she wouldn't sleep alone again, but todays her birthday and I wanted some time with my little girl.

Eloise grumbled but laid her head next to mine, cuddled her elephant and went back to sleep. The two of us slept until half past seven when I decided that it was an acceptable to be awake, at least on your birthday and Christmas.

Me: "Happy Birthday gorgeous girl! I can't believe your six!" I said holding her close trying to work out if she had grown over night.

Eloise: "I know! I'm a real big girl now!"

Me: "You are, I can't believe your already six!"

Eloise: "I am! I really am! Can we go downstairs now?!" she said excitedly.

Me: "Yeah, let's go and get your sister and then we can,"

Eloise ran towards the girls' bedroom, and threw the door open.

Me: "See if she's awake first,"

Eloise: "Livy... Olivia..." Ellie whispered sliding through the door into the two's bedroom.

Me: "Olivia, it's time to wake up,"

Olivia: "I am awake!"

Eloise: "Well, come on! It's my birthday!"

Olivia: "I know! Happy Birthday Eloise!"

Eloise: "Thanks, Livy! Can we go now?"

Me: "Yeah, come on then!" I took her hand and the three of us creeped downstairs into the princess decorated living room.

Eloise: "WOW!" she said seeing the pile of presents on the floor.

Me: "Do you want to open your presents first or have breakfast first?"

Eloise: "Presents!" she laughed sitting in front of the mermaid wrapped presents.

I sat on the couch opposite with my phone ready to take pictures watching as she carefully chose the first present to open. She ripped open the first three gifts, a Disney Princess Lego set since she always used Olivia's, a plush mermaid and an Ariel 'action figure.' Until she got to the present that I couldn't wait for her to open, she had asked for a FurReal Friends unicorn forever, and after going through three separate toy shops and not finding it, I ordered it from America for almost double it's £70 price in shipping, but the look on her face when she pulled it open was priceless.

Eloise: "My unicorn! That's what I wanted!"

Me: "I know! Do you like it?"

Eloise: "Yeah! It's the best present ever! Can you open it, please?"
